LONG GONE ! SO WHAT NOW ?

Gone but not forgotten is one great ball park.Childhood memories back to even
my first Football game vs. the Packers on Turkey Day. I think we lost back then
too.From my days of watching Norm Cash ,Mark The Bird, till the later stars
of the 90's.Concerts too. The EAGLES, ROD STEWART,ELTON JOHN,KISS,ALICE IN CHAINS,and even Detroit's own SPONGE.Countless Openning Day's with the RIFF
WOW, I could go on-and -on....

But what now? as we look at a pile of rubble that could have been saved.
Let's see how long it takes for something to happen (my guess is 5-10 years)
There are so many great buildings (Like the Wurlitzer Build.)in detroit that just sit vacant for many many years now.What makes us think The corner of Michigan & Trumble is gonna change anytime soon.
Looking at our own Detroit City Council and what's been going on , Mayor changes
Police CHief changes, I donrt forsee any changes soon. Its a shame too,I kinda felt
we were on a roll for a bit with the Super Bowl,NCAA tourny,Air races,Tigers in the World Series, The LIONS ......er The LIons..........well skip that,This is the year
will start it up in the Fall...worst to First? .......
I just wished we really would have a concrete plan for the future before
we just wreck and wait.I'm just like the rest of you....waitting.......so
come'on Detroit Let's Do something........anything!

When I lived in Indiana for a little time starting my radio career . The Buzz was this local artist 80's pop singer Henry Lee Summer.... well he was arrested on Tuesday in Indianapolis for obstruction of justice and resisting arrest!

Summer, known for his Top 20 hit from 1986, I Wish I Had a Girl (Who Walked Like That), was pulled over by police for not using his turn signal. Before coming to a complete stop, cops saw Summer chuck his drugs out the car window!

So smart!

The meth-head was so off his rocker that police had to pepper spray that bitch to get him to calm down!

Summer was released from jail on Wednesday and is awaiting his May 12th trial.

Swine flu is running wild ...trust me if anyone is gonna catch this ..its gonna be ME.

"SWINE FLU" the name of the virus spreading from Mexico is affecting their business, prompting U.S. officials to argue for changing the name from swine flu.

Please refer to the flu as the "H1N1 virus."

Israel has already rejected the name swine flu, and opted to call it "Mexico flu." Jewish dietary laws forbid eating pork.

Just think of the Pig farmers that will be affected by this . No pork bans are in affect at this time .

The Pulse of Radio reports that the Converse sneaker brand is planning a new line of products for the fall that will feature METALLICA and AC/DC shoes, according to the New York Post. ' FELLOW BARTENDER NEEDS OUR HELP"

You Might know Mike DeRidder. He's one of the bartenders at TNT's. Mike need our help.
Mike's house burned down to the ground back on January 30th. He lost everything in the fire, which isn't a big deal to him, as much as the fact that he lost his dog in the fire. It breaks my heart to say this. He was telling me that his dog never wandered into the basement prior, but that's where the firefighters found her. She must have been scared, and that was the only place that she could get to. Again, Mike wasn't as bummed about losing everything as much as he was broken up about see the firefighters carry his dog out, which he saw. Really sad.

The crew at TNT's has put together a benefit for Mike. Its happening this Sunday at TNT's (15 and Harper, of course). Doors are at 4PM. Its $10 to get in, and that includes pizza, salad, munchies and the like. There will be live rock from Overtow, and I'll be spinning before and after the band. In addition, there's going to be a silent auction and 50/50. All proceeds from everything go to Mike.

Mike is currently in school to be a firefighter himself, ironically. Everyone that knows him knows that he would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. We gotta support him.

What a weekend to recover from ...my buddy Brandon Calhoon cd release party was at the Magic Bag and He SOLD IT OUT! Its a great cd and of my Favorites!
Concert wize Jan will rap up with out a rest . The 28th SCOTT WEILAND at St Andrews,with a special VIP party I get to host at the MGM stripped down Lounge before the show. The 29th Is The Black KEYS @ the Filmore.30th,The MUGGS at the Magic Bag,and SLIPKNOT rocks The Palace on the 31st! Keep tuned as we have your Ultimate upgrade!
Lots of people are asking if the MIKE IN THE MORNING wake up calls will be posted on the Riff website....good question and I will look into it for all of you.
Here's is the only advice I can give you to keep healthy this winter ...wash your hands alot ,clean your cell phone,eat lots of fresh food and try to get some rest.
I'm telling you this now cuz I didn't and now i'm getting sick and it sucks! Try the fist bump instead of the hand shake and stay away from sick people!
I'm still working thru all this so tune in MON- Fri 12mid-5:30 for Late Night Overnight. on WRIF.

WHAT I DID ON MY WINTER VACATION

Back to work after a great vacation.Kinda of a different one then you would expect.
Wokin hard and playing hard all week. Had the big move to the new ranch and let me say that "I will never want to move in the winter again!Weather played a big part as the elements let me have some space between snow storms and friget temps.Thankxz go out to my real good friends who came thru for me like Cathy aka Mooner, Dave her brother,Sparky...(your the best eh!)Katie,Dawn,Scott,,My Nephew
Craig,SLAYER,Screamin POPs,Dave the Handy Man(thankx for the floors and closets.DougK,For the Dolly,all these people and more came thru big time and got me moved in on time.To the Ms. Kris for all you do everyday and for putting up with me.
Thru the move I still made time for the screamin world bar tour and saw some great
bands and hung out at new bars ..Mug Shots , Pepper Bottoms ( thanks Kelly and your staff)and ole favorites I hung out at TNT's ,The Dawg House,Ritz,Fat Cats,Blue Goose Inn,On The Rocks,The Hideout,Rusty Nail,and many other's I think I was there,Things are still blurry....Augies! cant forget them.....
Had dinner at a great resturant at the New Book Cadillac in Detroit. Its called The Spa 19 24 Grille!Wow This is one place you all have to enjoy a meal at! I can tell you how many Little Ceasers $5 pizza's I ate too.....whew.
My other time is now spent unpacking....its amazing how much stuff you forget you have untill you move. Which to the salvation Army got 12 bags of old clothing and old shoes toys ect...working on my rock room now .Putting it all together just the way I like it.
My thankxz to all my new Neighbors including Chuck who is a wiz with a snow blower.
Cant wait to get back to work ....I know it sounds strange but when you have a job like mine....you do miss it alot.Its the best place to work in the world and what a great family to be with. Friday Night ...I'm gonna catch the CD release Party for BRANDON CALHOON at the MAGIC BAG ...you cant miss this one..it will be a BASH... Till Then ,catch me on air 12am to 5:30 during the week .Cant wait to wake up Mike Clark some more.

" Well , screamin's in the market for a house.Seems everyone is saying
"ITS A BUYERS MARKET" .......well it is sorta,This search started a year
ago, and boy let me tell you...its not as easy as it seems.There is a lot
of %!$@#in hoops to jump thru to get from point A to point B. The house
in my sites is not a bad one ,but a great find,.....just needs alittle work
And when you go to buy a house it seems everyone has their hands on your wallet.
But it hasn't been all bad,My realtor Fran is an Angel and other Helpers
Patti,Eric,Steve and my all around friend Bad TOMMY have been a Godsend.
But here's the Latest road block .......When you buy a House that's been
Unoccupied they Winterize it .....so everything's been shut off. Including
the LOO,Watercloset..the Pooper shed. Well after the Electric was turned on the
other day , I guess the Electric company decided to leave me their calling card
.....a present, they Drop'd the Lions at the Superbowl!
Thankxz gang.....I'll remember that one.
