Uh. Hey guys.

Okay. I'm not going to go into detail about what's happened these past several months, or give any excuses as to why the site was basically abandoned, because giving excuses is lame. And I have to get running to work, so I'm going to make this quick.

We were going to start scanlating Fullmetal Alchemist again starting with this month's chapter, but the scans are horrendous. If any of you could point us towards good scans (stuff of the quality of scans in previous years, and, like 1200px height?), we would be immensely, eternally grateful.

I have faith in you guys. Now go.

Sorry I didn't post RAWs for the chapter last month, the scans looked really gross and I forgot to keep checking for better ones.

Unfortunately I won't be able to post RAWs this month either, as I am working at camp again this summer! I'm leaving in like...... now. I don't even know if the chapter's out yet, I've been too busy to check. :(

Also Cynthia is in Japan for a few weeks, so she won't be able to keep you guys updated either. :((((

Sorry about all this. I just thought that the least I could do would be to leave a quick note letting you guys know what was up! ♥ Love you!

Fullmetal Alchemist 82 RAW!

After leaving the site abandoned for a good three months, I felt that it was my obligation to get this month's RAW up for you the INSTANT I caught wind of it, even if I had other things that I should be doing.

So, here you go. Here's the RAW even though I certainly do have other things that I should be doing. 8D I haven't even read it myself yet, though I did glance at it to see how the scans were

So the scans are, erm... I wouldn't call them low-quality, but they're not medium-quality, either. Somewhere in between. If something better comes up, I'll upload that instead, but for now, these aren't bad. All they need, really, is some [insert babbling about image editing here].

Oh. And remember how I said in my last update that I'd have a surprise/announcement within a few days, unless RL got in the way, but I'd try to make sure that it didnt? Ahaha, well... I had completely forgotten that this week is finals week (can you blame me for forgetting about that I mean WHY THE HELL IS IT SO EARLY???). And thus the "other things that I should be doing" mentioned earlier in this post.

HI!!! IT'S BEEN WAY TOO LONG!! ♥

Anyway, check it out! I made a new layout! :D Well... it's not really new. It's basically the same thing, except less lame. There's probably still a little tweaking to be done, and more top images to be made, but besides that, there you go!

Annnnnd I have another surprise coming in a few days, along with a special announcement. Hopefully. Unless RL gets in the way again, but I'll try not to let that happen.

Happy 2008, everyone!

Now, I know I had said that I'd get the next chapter of Pokemon Special done before the end of the year. But I didn't. Unfortunately I had underestimated how busy I would be during the holiday season. (I know, that seems like a big DUH. Feel free to slap me.) And I wish I could say that I'll get it done within the next week or so, but that would be a complete and utter lie. I'm leaving for New Orleans in about 36 hours and I have a lot of things to take care of before then, including but not limited to cleaning, packing, possibly shopping, registering for courses, and trying to plan out my sleeping schedule (it's about 3:30 PM as I write this, and as I already mentioned, I have to be at the airport in about 36 hours - you do the math) (EDIT: Actually, it seems I have to be at the airport in 37 hours, but still).

By the way, I'm going to New Orleans to help with reconstruction, so if you bitch at me for slacking on manga scanlation, of all things, then I will happily ignore you. ♥

Anyway, my apologies. I will endeavor to get the next PokeSupe chapter done as soon as I can after I return, though. :)

Also, duelstandby.com was recently renewed, and it seems that that has restored it. So if you hadn't already noticed, the forums are back.

NOTE: Yes, this is the infamous Porygon episode. It should be safe enough to watch, but you might want to be careful starting around the fifteen minute mark. Just don't do anything stupid like watching it with your face an inch away from the screen or something.

Speaking of Pokemon, I WILL have the next chapter of PokeSupe done by the end of the year. About time, right? -_-

The chapter 78 RAW scans are fugly and hueg and I was going to wait for ones I liked better to come out before posting the RAW... But it's already scanlated anyway (anyone know where a zip/rar/whatever download of it can be found?) so I guess I just won't bother this month. Unless people request that I do, in which case I'll wait a few days for some other scans, and if they don't appear I'll just upload what I have.

...Okay, the real reason I didn't post the RAW was because, since the RAW came out, I've been either at work or sleeping. Sorry. (Though it's true that I don't like these scans.)

I'll reset the countdown ticker tomorrow, right now I, um. Want to get back to bed. D:

Hay guys. Lately we've been watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. It's pretty awesome.

On that note, I bring you an omake for chapter 77. It is Higurashi-inspired, and it MIGHT help to have some knowledge of it. Chances are it won't make a lick of sense even to Higurashi fans though, because it's just SO retarded.

Cynthia informed me last night that the ZOMGFTA forums have been down for a few days. In fact, all of my duelstandby.com sites are down. It appears that this is simply because the server that duelstandby.com is hosted on is down - there's nothing I can do about that but to wait it out, because I'm sure it'll come back eventually.

It looks like everything is still intact and no files are missing, so you shouldn't have to worry about losing posts or anything. Unless something ELSE crazy happened, but I'm hoping that's not the case.

(Oh, but I can still access my duelstandby.com email. :D The evil side of me kind of wants to rub that in your faces... but I won't.)

Also, I FINALLY reset the countdown ticker. Yey.

Though I discourage people from doing so, someone is bound to comment with spoilers, especially since I hear that this chapter is causing the fandom to explode or something (I haven't finished reading it myself)... Cynthia has been working on a text translation of chapter 75 just because she felt like it. At the time of writing this, she has 31 of 36 pages completed. XD

We are still on our break, though, so don't expect a completed scanlation anytime soon. I have some other things that take priority at the moment, and the chances of me putting those aside to edit just because I feel like it is... pretty slim. Sorry! ^^;

I haven't read it myself yet (I'm waiting for Cynthia to get online so we can have our crack-filled chapter reactions over AIM 8D), so I can't say anything on it, but download it at will! :3 (Also I won't be reading the comments to this post yet for that same reason, so if you ask me something, don't expect an answer for another few hours. ^^;)

I'll also be doing some tweaking to the website today, as appropriate for our current Fullmetal Alchemist hiatus.

On a related note, apologies that the countdown hasn't been reset in a couple months. That's one thing that will be fixed today. :3

A little break

Sigh. Deepest apologies for the lack of updates. Various reasons for it that I won't delve into, but anyway.

First order of business, if you want it and somehow haven't already found it for yourself, here's chapter 74 RAW.

Second order of business. Cynthia and I have decided that we're going to be taking some time off from working on the monthly Fullmetal Alchemist chapters. We are, as has become apparent, quite a bit burnt out from two and a half years of it, and we think a break for a few months is in order. Or at least it's better than making empty promises about the chapters getting done.

We won't be gone forever, of course! And we're not dropping off the face of the earth, either; I plan on using the time to get some work done on our other projects, and possibly making some slight changes to the site layout. I'll also probably still be offering downloads of the RAW chapters on the site for those of you who don't like to or can't download them with torrents or free hosting sites or such. (I don't intend for the RAW downloads to be as late as this month's, though. sfdlkhjlskjs)

So, hopefully by the time our break is over, we'll be sorely missing working on Hagaren and be more enthusiastic about getting the chapters done. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all. Or something.

In the meantime, there are other scanlation groups who are working on Fullmetal Alchemist. (I don't know who they are, though. If any commenters would be so kind as to enlighten me I'll add links to the other groups' sites!) And for those who want to have our versions of the chapters someday, we do intend to get them done eventually. Maybe the update declaring the end of our break will even include the release of several chapters at once, who knows? We'll just have to see what happens.

Sorry about this. But no matter what happens, we love you all! <3

Edit by Cynthia: I'm also behind on translating Juushin Enbu, but I'll be writing detailed chapter summaries in the meantime, which I'll post here soon along with the RAWS (and news about the ANIME starting in October). Look forward to a BIG Juushin Enbu post in the future. And sorry everyone! D:

Okay, would have updated sooner, but I had no chance to get online the past few days, sorry. ^^;

Chapter 73 still isn't done; I've done as much as I could, but with the text translation still incomplete, I can't get the editing done. (I tried to do some translation on my own but my brain was too fried from struggling to read Magical x Miracle in Japanese. Ahahaha.) Cynthia says she'll get the translation done ASAP, but I can say for certain that nothing will get done tomorrow.

We're going to spend the day frolicking about Six Flags, see. For my birthday. So, yes. WE'LL BE THINKING OF YOU GUYS THE ENTIRE TIME, THOUGH. <3

Anyway, it shouldn't be too much longer, and then 74 should be soon to follow. Again, we are so sorry this has been such a disaster.

Okay, soooo between Otakon and Deathly Hallows I haven't had time to get much of anything done on chapter 73. lkdfjhlkafjdhakdhadh I'm a horrible person, I know. ;_;

Well, at the moment I'm on family vacation, and I should be able to put aside some time for the chapter, so it will most likely be done before chapter 74 RAW comes out.

...*sobs* We've never been this late before! ;_;

HOWEVER. My dad is going to be doing some sort of switcheroo (within the next couple days or something) which ends up with me getting a NEW COMPUTER!!! :DDD

This is a good thing, as anyone who has ever tried to use my computer would know.

I'm not sure how this will affect my getting the chapter done. Hopefully not at all, because I'm pretty sure that all my programs and fonts and such are being copied over...

Anyway. Our utmost apologies for the lack of updates, and the lack of progress. ;_;

Okay, thought I should let you guys know of what's going on...

Unfortunately, there's a good chance that the chapter scanlation won't be done before Otakon like we had hoped. Cynthia wasn't able to get much of the translation done over the weekend (the in-progress text translation, by the way, is here), and since she works full-time during the week I'm not sure she'll be able to get it done before the weekend. But we will try to get it done post-haste!
