Well, today is the move. We are moving into my new offices. Yeah! Eric should be here soon to help with putting together all the office furniture. I truly hate having to put together all that stuff. The holes never line up, you end up short a screw or two. Some say I'm short a screw or two myself. Who knows!?!? :) Well, I gotta get ready.

Wow, isn't God good!? Yesterday, Donna and I were driving back from eating dinner with her dad and step-mom, when we saw for the first time a DOUBLE rainbow. I took a photo with my camera phone, which is not the greatest but you can see it. I wish you could have seen it with us in person. It was amazing! The bright one you could see from end to end! What a display of God's promise!

Hey there. It's been a while since I've written in my blog. I know I am lazy. Sorry!! But I am trying.

I've been busy the past several weeks and am off this weekend for the first time in a long while. I am looking forward to spending time at home with Donna and my grandson Dylan. I plan to work in the yard, clean my office, and catch up on some Tivo stuff.

Just a quick note to wish you all a Very Happy Easter! I hope you have a wonderful time in the Lord remembering and praising Him for what He did just for us!! WOW!! What a privilege to know Chirst!

Oh, I got back from Mark Lowry's first "Senior Trip," (his 3-day event for senior citizens), and had a wonderful time. One of the highlights for me was to get to hear Tony Compolo preach and meet him. Here is a photo of Tony and me.

Mark Lowry's "Senior Trip"

Well, it almost 10.30 AM and I am about to leave for Nashville for Mark Lowry's "Senior Trip." This is a BRAND NEW thing Mark started this year and this is his first one. Basically it is a 3 day party for Seniors, (50+). You have to be 50 or older to attend. There are concerts, tons of special guests, and a "Don't Tell The Preacher" Big Band Dance.

No, I am not 50 yet, but Mark asked if I would come up to push his chair around this week. You see, he was recently in a motorcyle accident and had to have knee surgery and can't walk for 6 months. So, I told him I would. Sometimes it is fun and needed just to hang out with friends sometimes.

Pray for me. I should be back Saturday!

I just had to post this photo. I think it is GREAT!! Eric Jackson is my road manager and he has a one year old daughter, his first kid. Well, I saw this photo of Abby on his computer the other day and asked him to send it to me so that I could have all you see her! It looks as if Eric forgot to put those child safety things on the electrical outlets and she got into one!

Death by Chocolate in Denver

Justin and I just returned from Denver, CO where we did a Death by Chocolate comedy outreach event. Wow, what a time. Summitview Church had us in. They run about 100 on Sundays but this past Saturday night, there were close to 400 that attended the event, with only about 20% being Christians. What a great time of ministry and what a great way to expose Summitview's ministry to the local community! Thanks for praying for us!

It is Friday afternoon and I am sitting in the Lobby of a Ski Resort in Breckenridge, CO. My friend Phil Disney is on the Mountain skiing and having fun. I didn't want to take the chance of that after just getting over my back problems. Justin Fennell is here with us along with Eric Jackson, our road manager.

It is COLD up here. We are about to go eat some lunch. Late tonight we are heading to Broomfield, CO cause Justin and I have a Death By Chocolate event there Saturday night.

Just Talking

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything on my blog and I apologize for that. Writing a journal or keeping a diary has never been one of my strong points. But I will try my best to do better.

Things have been going well with Justin Fennell and me on the road with the "Death By Chocolate" events. Just a few weeks ago we were in Raleigh, NC at Crossroads Church and they sold out. 600 people were there and they had to stop the ticket sales about a week before. The sponsor said he probably could have sold another 600! So, that is great news!! We had a great time. You can view photos from the event on my web site at scottdavis.org.

Then last week we were in Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC at Journey's Crossing Church. It was a smaller crowd of about 150, but what a responsive crowd. Now, I am NOT making this up, but one guy came to Justin and me after the concert and said he's only laughed that hard two other times in his life. One was at a Steve Martin concert and the other at a Billy Cosby concert! What a compliment!

This past Wednesday I went up to Nashville for Anthony Burger's funeral. Some of you might not know who he is, but he was one of the BEST piano players in the world! He traveled all over the world in music ministry and was a regular with Bill Gaither and the Homecoming crowd. Well, last week he was on a Gaither Cruise and while on stage playing for Bill Gaither and some others, he had a heart attack and died! It was such a tradegy. He was only 44 years of age. He was a tremendous man and a great friend. He will be truly missed.

While I was up there, I got to hang out with my friend Mark Lowry. He also took some time to allow me to interview him for my PodCast. So, if you've not heard that yet, please hop back over to my homepage and subscribe to my PodCast.

Well, it is almost 3:20 in the morning here on Friday night, (Saturday morning), and I've got to catch up on my tivo stuff. It was Sci-Fi Friday, so I have several shows to watch before I hit the hay.

Well, I am sitting here at a Panera Bread Company in Seekonk, MA. Friday night, I had the prvilege of ministering in concert for the Zion Bible College in Barrington, Rhode Island, which is only about 5 miles from here. What a great college and what a great group of students. I had the opportunity of being their special guest for their Christmas concert.

While we are here, we are staying on campus in an old castle. This place used to be the campus for Barrington College until Zion purchased it several years ago. Prior to that, this "castle" was one man's residence. It has 86 rooms and over 20 fireplaces. When the man divorced his wife, he built an extension in the back that is as nice as my entire home, and banished her to that part!

Anyway, that is where we, (Eric, my road manager and I), are staying while up here in New England. This morning we awoke to the beautiful white snow that had fallen overnight. When we got back to the castle, I took a picture so that you could see where we are staying.

Beautiful Fall Weather & Back Update

Oh, it has been so warm lately here in Georgia, but just a couple of nights ago, the cool finally swept in! I love this time of year when the sky is clear at night and the air is crisp! You can actually "see" your breath. I am not a huge fan of bitter cold, but I do love the fall "cool" weather.

Just a little update to let you know that my back is MUCH better. I was actually able to ride our riding lawn mower yesterday without much pain. That is something I've not been able to do in some time. Yes, I was cutting grass in November! It was the last cutting of the season and it was high since I've not been able to get out there and do it.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for praying for me and my back. I am now only going twice a week to the back doctor and if all goes well, that might diminish to once a week soon....I hope! To deal with my pain now, all I take is Aspirin, so that is a true blessing!

Asheville, North Carolina

Eric Jackson, my road manager, is about to pick me up in the van and then we head to beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. We will be ministering tomorrow morning in 2 services and on television at the Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church. At 4pm, then will have their fall festival and at 6:15pm, I will be doing a full concert for them.

Please pray for us as we drive there and back and pray that it will be a great time of ministry.

WOW!! The Original Wal-Mart!!

I am in Bentonville, AR and had the opportunity to see the very first store that Sam Walton opened in 1950 that enventually turned into the Wal-Mart chain, (my favorite store). That was a treat for me. Unfortunately, it was closed today and tomorrow. It is now a museum. Eric and I also dropped by the HOME OFFICE. (Refer to all the pictures!).

Well, I am at the hotel right now. We fly back to Atlanta tomorrow and I have to head straight to the back doctor at 3 pm. We had a wonderful service here at the Bentonville Nazarene Church. You need to go to scottdavis.org to check out all the pictures.

My first broadcast is very short....only about 2 minutes long. I was coming back from the back doctor the other day, and Mark Lowry called me on my cell phone as I was traveling around I-285 in Atlanta, and he recorded a short phone interview with me. So, you can hear it now!

I will be adding more programs as time goes along. Some will be devotionals, some comedy, some interviews, and things like that. So, I hope this too will add to your web experience!

New Mexico

Well, I am sitting at a Mexican resturant in the Albuquerque airport. We flew in here about 2 hours ago, (Eric and I), and have another hour to kill before our flight to Atlanta.

We had a wonderful weekend in Roswell & Artesia, NM. On Saturday night & Sunday morning we ministered at the First Baptist Church in Roswell, and what a great bunch of folks. You can see pictures now on scottdavis.org.

Then on Saturday night we drove about 45 miles to be at West Main Baptist. It was full last night, with some of the most warm people you will ever meet!! It was great! Again, check out the pictures at scottdavis.org.

Well, I better get going, we have to go through security and my battery is getting low.

Oh my aching back!

I had a great weekend of concerts this past week in Albany, Arlington, and Fitzgerald, GA. However, when I returned home on Monday, my back had gotten worse.

On Wednesday of this past week, the doctor gave me a huge spinal injection of pain meds and a steroid. It hasn't seemed to do much. Their advice is to stay "flat" on my back in bed to try to ease the irritation causing the inflamation.

That is what I've been trying to do. However, I am leaving about 4 pm today with Eric, and my wife Donna, to Montgomery, AL. I have a concert there Sunday night at the Taylor Road Baptist Church.

So, PLEASE pray for me. Pray for healing! I would greatly appreciate it!

One, last thing, I will be debuting my new CD on Sunday October 9 at the Village Church in Jonesboro. If you are anywhere near, please come out!

Special Event September 10

On Saturday night, September 10, I will join friends Ray Waters, Doug Mills, and Todd Hayes, to form a "Southern Gospel Quartet" for a night of music at Spivey Community Church, in Stockbridge, GA, (spivey.net). This event will include a great meal and is organized in order to raise funds for a missions trip to Guatemala.

Labor Day

I hope you have a wonderful labor day. My in-laws are joining Donna and me for some football in the afternoon, and then a cookout at dark. It should be a great time of fun, food, and fellowship with family. I hope yours will be too.

In other parts of the country, there are those not as fortunate. Those hit by Katrina will be suffering so much in comparison to us. They need our prayers and help. If you can, please donate something to the Red Cross or Salvation Army, or to Feed The Children, an organization Donna and I have given to. But also pray. There are those in need, many without Christ. Pray that God will use this event to bring hope to those without hope. Pray that many will find Christ because of this.
