Have just received those few words from two women getting married in Boston, Massachuset and later coming to Paris for their honeymoon - Love has no barrier. I certainly have no prejudice against same sex marriage. Everyone is allowed happiness and choice in their union. I would LOVE to have the opportunity to photograph Candice and Victoria during their honeymoon trip to Paris ...
It would be so much fun - What a great idea !

"...Bonjour, We are 2 women getting married in Boston Massachusetts in the US and are honeymooning in France. We would like to bring our dresses and veils and do a photo shoot around Paris. Kind of a \"trash the dress\" session if you know about that concept. We know we would like Paris/city shots on the bridge with the old lanterns, and some shots at the Musee Rodin. Other than that, take us wherever is gorgeous to make photos in Paris. We love it all. What would you charge for a 4 hour session? We will get the prints and make our own album when we get home, so we're really just looking for coverage. I am a florist and will be making bouquets for the shoot when we arrive in Paris. Other than that, we will wear our dresses and go where you suggest. We love you work!

Last year, we photographed weddings in the South of France, Burgundy, the Dordogne, the Lake region in northern Italy, England, Marocco and the US. One of my bride was kind enough to send me a photo of myself & her wedding photographer.
It was taken by a guest at one of my summer weddings in France @ Chateau de Champlatreux.
It shows the "Man at work": Happy, relaxed, goofy, enjoying a wonderful day.
I am showing this picture not so much to prove my good look but rather to convey the mood of a professional photographer at work!
I always tell my brides that they should make sure to book a photographer who loves his wedding work and does not photograph weddings only to pay the bills. i believe a wedding photographer has to be passionate about his craft in order to excel at the task at hand. Like a good wine, twenty years of experience transcend into a jolly fellow whose job ( his passion ) has become second nature. It is most important to get everyone to simply enjoy the photographer's company very quickly. Only then will you forget the fact that you are being photographed.
That's when magic happens!

Elie Saab for Pronovias- I have been photographing weddings for quite sometimes now. I have therefore built up a liking for a few special designers. Oscar de la Renta has always been my all time favorite along side Elie Saab. I had the pleasure to photograph Elie Saab Collection in Paris a few times and it is always a devine experience for the eyes. Elie Saab has designed a collection for Pronovia 2010 this year, along side Manuel Mota and Valentina Sposa who do beautiful work.
I am so much looking forward to photograph those wedding gowns.

A few more images of Milan and Tijana's wedding at the Plaza Athenee . The ceremony was hold at the Serbian orthodox church in the 18th. We all went to the Palais Royal for a few portraits. The light was gold and crisp. Perfect for photo opportunities. Beautiful fall afternoon which is stretching up to the week end I hope!

Thanks to my Friend Marlene, I am enjoying shooting some film again just for the pleasure of it! Nothing beats a roll of TriX film. I photographed Milan and Tajina at the Plaza Athenee in Paris yesterday. They were both eager to see a few shots ASAP :( So here are the first few photos, fresh from the oven or my Black and White lab rather. Classic, chic, natural and simple - No "artifact" - What I like best really ...

We were invited to Friends wedding a few weeks back.
The Chateau de Villiers le Mahieu where the wedding was hold brought back memories,
a sense of "Deja Vu" as i soon realized I had photographed a wedding there a long time ago,
it seemed anyway!
Regardless, my friend Marlene had asked me to take a few photos of the preparation and her getting ready. She had asked for film and i captured a few moments with some TriX, a 35mm nikon and my rolleiflex. I do not usually photograph Friends weddings but when Yann called me back a few weeks before the wedding day and asked me again, I said yes...
The wedding was great. Yann was my assistant for a while and i was so glad to see those two finally get married.
Off they went to Malaysia for their honeymoon... and my little family to more adventures.

Picasso thoughts and photography

I often seem to get people I meet saying : " If only i had known about your photography when i got married ! My wedding photographer was such a disappointment.
What can I say ...
I just received this email actually ".... When we got married last July, our photographer had a family emergency and told us 3 days before our wedding that he was not able to be there. Therefore, we ended up with the only photographer available. Although our photographs are nice, they are not our style. We love art and fashion and for photographs we love journalistic/artistic style-like Olivier!!! ..." Sweet but unfortunately too late.
I often think of this story of Picasso. He was sitting outside one day and a woman passing by asked if he would do a quick sketch of her likeness. When he was done the lady asked how much she owed, and he said, “That will be $2000 please.” The lady said, “For 20 minutes of your time?” And he said, “No, for a lifetime of experience.”

So, I know this is a long shot, but my boyfriend and I are going to be in Paris 26th-30th of August. I think we might be getting engaged. Matthews proposed Nathalie at the restaurant "Le Jules Vernes" this past week. We took a few engagement photos around the Eiffel Tower the next day. They are now on their way back to Huston,Texas. Please salute those Texan Cowboys from a French photographer who grew up with John Wayne.
