Therefore it is important to keep up to date on the various trends and surveys that are carried out regarding the Internet and how people us the Internet in Europe for example.

The details of a survey carried out explains why as a business in Spain (or Europe) you should be allocating more funds to Internet marketing, especially if you are a Spanish real estate company or an overseas property business.

The results of a survey conducted in Europe using 5,000 consumers indicated quite decisively that our beloved Internet is almost five times MORE influential than magazines, newspapers and other forms of printed media in affecting a sale.

The statistics associated with how influential the Internet was in affecting the outcome of a sale was quite staggering with 42% in the UK, 40% in Germany and 37% in France. This was rated much higher than other forms of media with the TV coming in at 23%, 22% and 25% respectively.

Now for all those property agents that still insist on using printed media such as magazines and newspapers to advertise their properties in Spain and overseas in order to pick up new leads, these forms of media came in at between just 9% and 14%.

With purchases that are associated with lifestyle or those that are deemed to impact on the buyers lives, the actual influence of the Internet was even more pronounced.

Buyers now see the enormous benefits of the Internet but even now there are still doubts in the minds of some buyers as to the integrity of online information. Here at Artemis Internet part of our online marketing strategy is addressing these 'fears' and quickly overcoming them in order to maintain and increase sales leads.

Overseas Property Forums
Love them or hate them when people are looking and researching large purchases such as overseas property they tend to want to see what others have to say and therefore seek out forums and other social media sites.

Overseas Property Internet Marketing Strategy
At Artemis we are constantly reviewing statistical data for many industry sectors, especially the overseas property market and therefore adapt our marketing strategies to suit. With overseas property one of the first activities we need to develop on a clients website is to build trust with the visitor. With the current state of the overseas property markets there are of course fewer buyers and these buyers now tend to conduct a great deal more research on the Internet and are better informed but along with it they are less trusting.

So one of the first activities here at Artemis Internet when we market a clients overseas property website is to start the trust and relationship building as soon as possible.

How do we do this?

Below are just some of the tactics we employ to achieve the above:

Clean, uncluttered trustworthy websites - This can be the difference between getting a lead or the visitor leaving the site and going to a competitor.

You need to know what pages visitors arrive on and what pages they exit on, we need to review bounce rates and see what points people leave without going any further.

We will help you start building a relationship with your visitors right away by answering some of their potential questions within your website. What questions? Well that is part of our job as your Internet marketing company. We will go through and list out potential questions a potential client might have at the early stages and then work with you to come up with clear and concise answers.

We need to ensure that the navigation of your website is clear and easy to use. Many Internet marketing companies look at your website from a search engine perspective not a human one. This is wrong as you need to do it the other way around. Of course it needs to be search engine friendly but it also needs to convert.

Why not have a look through the various Internet marketing services we offer at Artemis and book a free consultation or website 'health check'.PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-44568627119465007902008-06-05T08:58:00.000-07:002008-06-05T09:02:41.838-07:00Internet Advertising Expenditure Increases by 40% in EuropeDespite the global credit crunch and the supposed property crashes hitting every European country the online expenditure for advertising has not showed any apparent signs of slowing down, according to data provided by Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe.

In fact the figures suggest that online spending in Europe has increased by a massive 40%, when compared to last year to 11.2 billion euro across 16 European countries that were analysed.

Breaking this down even further to specific countries the highest spends were recorded in the UK, Germany and France, which claimed 65% of the overall expenditure at around 5.7 billion euro. However, some very interesting data also revealed that some of the countries who have really just started to realise the power of the Internet as a marketing tool also grew substantially with Greece by 91%, Spain by 55% and Slovenia by 49%.

When looking at Northern Europe and Southern Europe as separate entities it was interesting to note that Northern Europe has a much larger share of the online advertising spends with the Netherlands and Norway spending 18.5% and 15.6% of their total marketing spend online respectively. In Southern Europe Italy and Spain were the leaders by allocating 6.7% and 4.5% of their marketing expenditure to online activities respectively.

What does this show?

People selling property in Southern Europe are missing out on a huge chunk of potential business.

The overseas real estate market in Spain for example generally involves selling to people in colder and wetter climates but in richer economies who are looking for that second home in the sun. You can see by the figures that Northern Europeans are actually allocating more and more budget to online advertising as they realise that many of them spend a considerable amount of time on the Internet. However, in Southern Europe it is clear from the figures that companies are not using the biggest tool available to get in front of the Northern Europeans, by this we of course mean the Internet.

It is a simple equation;

The biggest market for property buyers in Spain is Northern Europe

The majority of Northern Europeans spend a considerable amount of time online

So this means that Southern European real estate countries should be allocating far more of their advertising budgets to Internet Marketing activities.

Here at Artemis Internet Marketing we specialise in the real estate sector and already conduct a number of online campaigns for Spanish property companies using Search Engine Optimisation, Search Engine Marketing and Pay Per Click Advertising.

Take a look at our website http://www.artemisinternetmarketing.com/ for information about our different online marketing packages.PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-31293890044779923542008-05-26T01:06:00.000-07:002008-05-26T01:26:28.975-07:00The Costa del Sol - NewsWell it's the start of a new week here on the Costa del Sol and the sun is out. Seems like the press have been at it again with their 'opinions' on the Spanish property market and the impending property crash in Spain.

Personally I am not sure here they get all of their facts and figures from. Of course the Spanish property market has slowed down and the prices have fallen slightly but to be honest that has been expected for a while now.

Artemis Internet Marketing do the SEO in Spain for a number of estate agents and have seen first hand the number of property enquiries diminishing over the last 18 months at least. So in real terms it would appear that the 'slow down' started over a year ago. However some of the figures being thrown around by the UK press are very exaggerated.

At the end of the day the slow down has not been driven by overpriced property nor has it been driven by 'dubious' planning and corruption - this has been going on for decades and still is in many of the 'emerging' property markets, yet we do not read about those. It is however affected by the credit crunch and the weak pound / strong euro.

There are still people buying and NOW is a superb time to pick up a bargain.

Where else can you be 2.5 hours from the UK and find sunshine most of the year, a good solid infrastructure, good health care, good schools, a lower cost of living, a healthier climate etc. etc?

For these reasons Spain will come back as the FRONT RUNNER for property buyers abroad.

What's happening on the Costa del Sol this week?

Well the main event is of course the Nikki Beach White Party, which has become an institution for many Marbella residents.

This year Nikki Beach Marbella is having the official white party launch event on Thursday 29th May 2008.

If you have not already got your invite you might be a little late as once again the demand has been high and the roads are expected to be blocked from at least 6pm onwards.PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-35806729677536323482008-05-08T09:56:00.000-07:002008-05-08T10:15:56.082-07:00Removals to SpainNow here is a subject that many of us will know having moved to Spain.

How to find the right company for removals to Spain

There is a huge choice of removal companies claiming to offer the best removals to Spain or the cheapest removals to Spain but how do you know who to choose?

Well like anything else research is the key.

Take a look on the Internet and conduct a few searches for terms like 'removals to Spain', 'Spanish removals', 'furniture removals to Spain' etc. and make a note of the removal companies that appear each time.

Once you have conducted a few searches see what companies keep appearing the most for each search both on Pay Per Click (the sponsored results) as well as the organic search results.

Note:
People bid to appear on the sponsored listings which is known as PPC. See our PPC Management Services for information

The 'organic' results are the natural positions which are usually gained via a marketing method known as Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Here are Artemis we specialise in SEO in Spain and throughout Europe.

Now of course this is not an indication of how professional the removal firm is but it gives an idea of how much they plough into their marketing. This in turn normally gives a good idea of their 'professionalism' and whether they would be a good bet to contact.

Remember with things like removals to Spain, the cheapest is NOT always the best.

Ask for testimonials.
Ask for references.
Get clear concise quotes.
Ask whether any extras will be added to the quote.
Find out what insurance cover they have for YOUR goods.
Get more than one quote.

After all of that you should get a good feel for which company you should use for your removals to Spain.

Here at Artemis we are working with a professional, family run removals company offering expert removals to Spain, France and Portugal to and from the UK

See www.elite-european.com for details.PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-64163229142199046682008-05-05T04:58:00.000-07:002008-05-05T05:14:53.924-07:00Jobs in Spain | Recruitment Agencies SpainIt is always nice to work on an account that is in a market sector that is very competitive within the search engines. That is why here at Artemis Internet Marketing Spain we were happy to win an account in the highly competitive jobs in Spain sector.

There are a growing number of recruitment agencies in Spain so it was a nice challenge to take on one of these companies and help promote them in the Search Engines.

We are very pleased with early results as SERPS seem to be getting better for a growing number of keywords.

In our opinion it is far better to get positions for a number of targeted keywords so that the website appears for many more searches as well as the core keyword.

Recruitment Agencies Are on the UP

It is true that many more job hunters in Spain are turning to the experts to help them find suitable and reliable employment. With more and more professionals leaving the UK and setting up home / businesses in Spain there is a much larger role for a recruitment agency.

Traditionally job hunters in Spain turned to the local papers for a list of suitable jobs, and whilst this is still a popular and effective method, you will not really find the higher management and executive jobs as many businesses now employ the services of a recruitment agency to help find them the ideal candidate.

This means that more recruitment agencies in Spain are turning to the Internet to both promote their services as well as finding applicants for the jobs.

As more do this it becomes far more competitive to rank these websites in the top 10 positions in search engines like Google. For this reason recruitment agencies in Spain are turning to professional Internet marketing companies like Artemis for help in both achieving and maintaining good web positions.PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-31839295010305781832008-04-23T13:16:00.000-07:002008-04-23T13:29:13.035-07:00Property Management & Key Holding Services SpainHere at Artemis Internet Marketing we are all excited about one of our newest clients, Overseas Keys. We explain things in plain English and provide realistic targets and expectations. We firmly believe that as long as we do what we say we will do (often exceeding these expectations) we will develop a long term relationship with our clients.

The following post is lesson one in setting up an effective Pay Per Click advertising campaign. To be honest all of the information below is on the Internet if you have the time and dedication to researching the subject. We hope that the lessons that appear here will give you a head start with advertising your business online.

Remember for the most effective results you need to monitor and tweak the adverts on an ongoing basis. That is where we can help as we offer Pay Per Click Management services in Spain

That aside whether you want help or not the following lesson will guide you through step one of setting up an effective PPC campaign.

Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising Lesson One

Keywords
Whatever product or service you want to advertise you need to know what keywords people will use to find your services (or products) online. Many will be common sense but you want to make sure you capture as much TARGETED traffic as possible.

We use the word TARGETED as it is one of the most important factors in keeping your AdWords costs down whilst receiving the best quality visitors and leads.

If you have an Italian restaurant in the middle of Estepona you would not want to use the keywords "Italian restaurants Spain". Yes you will more than likely get far more traffic by using it but only a small percentage will actually be potential clients in your area or about to visit your area. The same goes for property. If you only sell property on the Costa del Sol it is a waste of money and your time to have the keyword "property for sale Spain". You will get people looking in Costa Blanca, Madrid, Valencia etc. and not be able to help them. YOU would have paid for the click but with no chance of getting the business.

Research suitable keywords

There are some tools to help you with this, although none of them are fantastic, they will give you an idea of the most search terms. The best one seems to be wordtracker but it is not free. Try it here. It is however one of the best and most used tools by Search Engine marketers to research suitable keywords.

Take a look at what your competitors are doing. See what words they appear for and do the same.

Adding your keywords - Do you broad match, phrase match or exact match?

This is an area where the majority of people not employing a PPC management company fall down. Google has various options available for your keywords.

Broad Match - this means that if you enter the words Luxury Italian Restaurant Estepona your advert could potentially appear for any of the words or any combination of the words i.e. luxury restaurant, marbella restaurant etc. It could also appear for any other words tagged on to the search query such as luxury restaurant France, or Italian restaurant central London.

If your business relies on a certain geographic or sector do not use broad match as the quality of visitors will be lower and you will spend your budget much faster

Phrase Match - this gives you more control over what searches your advert will be found for. To use phrase match you simply insert your keywords inside speech marks. So now the term "Italian restaurant estepona" will only be returned if all words are within the search query i.e. restaurant estepona, Italian estepona etc. It also allows for words to be added in the search phrase i.e. good Italian restaurant in estepona, cheap Italian restaurant estepona etc.

Exact Match - this is used to ensure your advert ONLY appears for the keywords you want it to. To exact match you place your advert within square brackets. So the term [Italian restaurant Estepona] will ONLY appear for that exact search. The Search Italian restaurants near estepona will not appear when using exact matching.

You can of course be clever when creating your keyword list but you will need to understand a little more about Google AdWords. You can include negative keywords. This means that by adding a minus symbol - to the front of a keyword if a search has that word in it, your advert will not appear.

For example using the following negative words means that if any of the following terms are included within a search, your advert will not appear.
-marbella
-puerto banus
-property
-takeaway

In the next lesson we will take a look at creating effective adverts and landing pages.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about PPC advertising please feel free to askPJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-17802999930077856942008-04-04T01:22:00.000-07:002008-04-04T01:42:20.989-07:00Noticed your Google AdSense revenue take a nose dive?Upon talking to a number of colleagues and associates that run Google AdSense in their websites the common factor appears to be the same, revenue is down.

Why?

Well to be honest there are a number of possible contributing factors that may be having an influence on this revenue.

1) The overall world financial state
There is no hiding from the fact that there is a global crisis in terms of finance and consumer spending at the moment. Obviously this is going to have an effect on the bids companies make for their AdWords and in some cases the suspension of campaigns altogether.

Less people looking to spend money online as the crisis affects their pockets too. Higher petrol prices and a gloomy outlook means that they may simply be avoiding spending extra cash at the moment.

2) Easter
Yup it came early this year and according to many friends in the UK schools and colleges up and down the country have been staggering their holidays meaning that over the last 3 weeks various schools have been on holiday for a couple of weeks.

So let's see what happens next week.

3) Google's new policing policy of AdSense units in websites.

It would appear that there are far too many 'Blogger's' who have simply added an AdSense unit (on Google's advice mind you) and have just stopped blogging but left in the AdSense, earning minimal revenue, if at all. However, it still means that the account has to be administered by Google.

No revenue for the Blogger means no revenue for Google but they still need to run the account.

So Google is now paying more attention to the content of a website and websites with better quality content for a certain sector will receive higher AdSense revenue than a poor badly worded website running AdSense.

For AdWords publishers the same applies. Google have always placed adverts on a combination of bid value as well as website content relevancy giving a 'quality score'. If your adverts or landing pages return a low quality score you will be asked to increase your bid.

So in a nutshell, when you are optimising a website for Google, whether that be for generating your own revenue with AdSense or doing your own advertising with AdWords CONTENT STILL REMAINS KINGPJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-76839525109320838572008-03-13T02:16:00.000-07:002008-03-13T02:27:41.917-07:00Email & SPAMWow. I just read an article about emails and SPAM and was reminded how young email and the Internet really are.

Way back in 1971 the very first email was sent. Can you believe that? Email has only been around for 37 years and that was on a very restricted basis. It was hardly email as we know it today. A guy called Ray Tomlinson managed to send a message from one machine to another in the same room.

Eureka! Email was born.

SPAM was something that would never have been thought of in those early days of email. Only around 1,000 people had email and you knew exactly who was sending the email to you.

But inevitably as the Internet grew, email became mainstream and criminal gangs realised that the Internet was a fantastic place to extort people, SPAM was born too.

But I suppose we have to take stock of the overall situation and ask the question;

Could I really do without my email account(s) now?

Could I survive with only texting, posting (and I mean the paper type that has to go by hand) or telephoning?

So yes in my humble opinion I destest SPAMMERS. I find SPAM an invasion of privacy and if I wanted Viagra or cheap software products (or indeed manhood enlargement pills), I certainly would not buy then from an anonymous company on the Internet who only wants my bank account details and credit card information. However, all of that aside I LOVE MY EMAIL!!PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-44927718632859485362008-03-12T01:25:00.000-07:002008-03-12T04:26:37.580-07:00Google and Double ClickWell it's official Google have at last completed the purchase of Double Click who are responsible for the majority of those banners and videos that run along the top or side of many websites. In fact they are responsible for billions of ads every day and although it may take some time for the $3.1 billion paid to be recouped, it is seen as a major win for Google.

So what will it mean to you and I?

Well it means that Google will have even more insight into our online behaviour.

It will mean that eventually you and I can earn money from these banners as Google are sure to include then in their growing armoury of AdSense revenue generators. This alone will allow "webmasters" to include these units in more and more websites, giving more exposure to advertisers and earning Google EVEN more revenue.

Over the last few years "text based ads", those that you see along the side of Google search pages or on third party websites, have dominated the 'paid for' ad arena with video and image ads dropping to 21% market share from their original 58% back in 2001. This is mainly due to Google being able to target ads based upon the specific search of a user or a specific page of a website i.e. on theme adverts, therefore achieving much higher conversions.

With their purchase of Double Click and the ability to target the right users we should see video and image ads making a huge comeback.

This is a HUGE blow to Microsoft, especially as their unsolicited bid for Yahoo was rejected. In reality we could really do with the Microsoft / Yahoo partnership just to keep an "even" balance.PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1289788153364168276.post-12010208026614657752008-03-11T07:49:00.000-07:002008-03-11T13:49:42.295-07:00First Post

Welcome to Artemis Internet Marketing based on the Costa del Sol in Spain.

Please make a note of our blog as we will bring you regular updates on the world of Internet Marketing, the latest news from the Search Engines and also provide you with tips and techniques to help make your website Search Engine Friendly.

Keep an eye out for our FREE SEO tutorials which we hope will help make your website Search Engine friendly.

PJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13593881909348958227noreply@blogger.com
