Well, friends -- I've decided it's time this site says goodbye, and doesn't it make sense? It does to me. The past few years, each time the annual bill came to pay for the domain and hosting, I'd wonder why I'm paying it because we never feel like updating it and there's never much news to report. But I'd always renew it anyway partly from sentimentality and party from thinking I'll be more active on redesigning it and updating it. Well, that hasn't happened. I did turn the news page from static html into a blog, which was cool and injected a few comments.

Also, Dragnet as a label has been inactive. Maybe you've noticed?. Our last release was The Vulvettes in 2003 and I have hundreds of CDs of it left. We started Dragnet as a way to release our own music, and after a couple records, A Frames and Intelligence got picked up by other labels, and honestly we were relieved because we hate doing actual label work (i.e., selling shit). The fact that I have hundreds of Vulvettes CDs left and it took how many years to sell 300 Los Huevos 7"s is good evidence of that.

Maybe we'll open a Dragnet page on myspace just to document the releases with cover art and songs. And if we ever get the bug up our asses to put out a record that really turns us on, of course we'll probably do a release for it. So this is really just a goodbye to the website/domain name. Dragnet will be just as inactive over on myspace and you can comment us over there. That way it's a little cheaper for me.

A FRAMES' new recording, "4", is almost all done. We recorded 12 songs at SOD Studio with Dan Strack of Factums/Fruit Bats fame. Scott S was here co-producing with us. There's just a few songs to remix, which will be done by the end of June. Not sure when it will come out, but that's up to Subpop's schedule I guess. We're really happy with it, and it was lots of fun having friends come down and contribute. There's some new appearances and some of the usual suspects are on it, including Climax Golden Twins, Josh Turgeon, Jo Claxton, Laura Cassidy, Wolfgang Acker, Jesse Paul Miller, Matthew Ford and Dan Strack.

We're doing a few Seattle shows this summer, and three shows in August along the west coast with The Pyramids,

So, the part in the last post where I said we were probably going to tour the west coast in May? Scratch that (sorry). Instead we're going to record our next record in May, at a place in Ballard with Steve Fisk. We now have enough material, have it rehearsed enough, to proceed past "go."

A tour is looking more like next spring because the record will definitely be out by then, and it's always more fun to have a new record on tour. We may be able to do a long weekend here or there in the meantime though....

Greetings. I thought it might be time to give a state of the union. A FRAMES is still in existence, we're just being very quiet right now. We went on tour to Europe in September/October 2006 and had an amazingly great time. Thank you to everyone who came to the shows, played with us, put us up, booked us, etc, and also to Andy & Subpop for the tickets, Robert for the coordination/booking, and Ecky for driving etc. We can't wait to return.

Next tour for us will likely be in May down the west coast, but nothing's been set up yet.

The next album will be called MIDNIGHT VISIONS and will be on Subpop if they like it. We are still working on the last couple songs before we can book the studio time.

Next shows are Feb 3 at The Funhouse, and Feb 24 in Vancouver BC. Hope to see you there.

Now back to our irregularly unscheduled non-program.

hi! the intelligence has returned from europe and only 2 of us are dead. huge thanks to everyone involved especially Dutch Lars and kissnrun and Jacque and Lilly and Pascal and Volt and the Normals and Nacho and Von Grappa and the nurses and Roberto and Tom and Marcel and Alberto and the Pits and Louie the dude from Nashville Pussy and France and Spain and Holland and Germany most of the time and not Greezia too much and tons of others i can't list on this computer i have 5 minutes on. THANK YOU. i'll hopefully get some kind of journal up here soon too... Also, Lilly and Jack Volt put out a vinly version of the narnack 'bonus disc' with and extra song and Nacho from holy cobra society put out a new 3 song 7" that we should have at shows and will hopefully available here too shortly. we're playing 3 northwest shows with John Dwyer's (pink and brown/zeigenbock kompf/coachwhips/ocs/etc) new band YIKES! who are really great.

Lots of news to report~!

First off, we must announce Lars' departure from A FRAMES. We felt it was the best thing all round and we are all very much still compadres to the fuckin core. How could we not be? Taking over on drums is the unmistakable Thommy Northcut. He's also a badass sk8er, photographer, cook, dancer, his favorite color is brown and he likes to garden! He moved here not too long ago from the fried state of Kentucky. Our first show with Thommy was last Saturday at the Funhouse and it was lots of fun.

The Intelligence just returned from a massive European tour and I need to get with those guys to find out all about how great it was.

A FRAMES are heading to Europe too, now that the Intelligence have warmed up the audiences hahaha. But seriously, it's gonna happen. September 28 - October 11, look for more details soon here or at kissnrun.com.

And lastly, this ole site is long overdue for an extreme makeover. I'll get right on that.

the Intelligence are going to play MONDAY dec. 26th at the NEUMO/BAD JUJU place about 10:30. it's free, half off all drinks, we're the only band, and DJ Macdonalds Breakfast Sandwich (Jesse Pulses) will be DJ'ing everything from 'Kanye West to Leonard Cohen to the Jungle Book Soundtrack". Also I doubt it but we may have the new "Flight of the Donkeys" 12" there too.

Decided to change the songs. I'm changing the A Frames rotation a bit to be just either demos or stuff that was never released. Also this is the digital debut of the Los Huevos 7"! It will "grill your sorry head and kill your ass."

And the shows page is looking a little out of date. There a couple reasons for that. 1. A Frames are going to play a whole new set for the next show. So that means we need time to write and practice some new songs. We don't know when we will be ready. 2. I'm lazy 3. I'm out of the loop on other shows that are worth your attention.

Hey! I just remembered there is a BRAND NEW 7" for sale by A FRAMES! It is two stone cold, age old classics from "the day". Namely: Police 1000, which is dedicated to Brother JT (no not him, our own Josh Turgeon, it's an ode to his motorcycle), and Traction, which never fails to get the butt rockers rockin they butts. Recorded at The Loft in Sacramento by Chris Woodhouse. Big thanks to S-S Records for picking up the ball on this one! And while I'm talking about S-S, you owe it to yourself to head over there and buy both KARATE PARTY LP and BABY 63 7". Get a few copies of the KP, they make great gifts. For A Frames 7", I have a limited supply, so email me before sending any $.

Got back from Richard & Rebecca's wedding bash, and what a party it was. Legendary. Richard just may be the coolest motherfucker on the planet. No shit. Richard, thanks a ton to you & Rebecca for bringing us out, and to Rainer & Arman for getting us the other shows.

Not much to report right now. A FRAMES are taking a break from shows so we can work on some new songs. We do have one show coming up, September 3 at the Sunset Tavern with OLD TIME RELIJUN, who are one of our very faves. THE INTELLIGENCE will be going down the west coast with THE TYRADES in mid September. Once I know the dates I'll post them. There may be a longer tour out east for The Intelligence too...

A few of our pals in the COUNTRY TEASERS will be playing a show as THE REBEL here in Seattle on September 28th at the Rebar. Don't miss it.

Well well it's been a few weeks since we got back from tour. It was the kickers backers tour -- 5 shows in 9 days. It was lots of fun, and we have to thank all our friends who made it happen: Ben, Tony, Bianca, Dan, The Weegs, Monty, Larry, Scott, all the bands we played with, anyone we forgot, and especially the Mexican restaurant in Ashland. Viva la Tres Pendejos!

We are very excited to have a show in September with one of our favorite bands ever, Old Time Relijun!

Apparently Sleater-Kinney has a new album out? And I read that it's awesome!

I had another go at encoding our video. If anyone didn't feel like installing the Xvid codec, you can try to download Memoranda and our brand new Monty Buckles creation, Black Forest III. Both encoded in glorious MPEG-2 technology. Which your computer may or may not be able to play. Each video is about 11 megs big.

A few months ago, the dashing Monty Buckles finished up the very first ever A FRAMES video. We think it's perfection. Here's a big version (9.1 mb, 496x368) and a small version (3.8 mb, 160x128). Edit: sorry, I haven't figured out how to do this without making you download the codec. If all you see is some trippy visualizations while the song plays, you will need to install the Xvid codec.

If you can read this page that means the domain has finally transferred to the new host IP. Name2host is the cheapest there is, but their problems were annoying and new hassles prompted a change. Sorry bout that!

News flash! There is actually a new record for sale, and actually available from us NOW. It's a split 7" on Omnibus Records of COACHWHIPS one one side and INTELLIGENCE vs KARATE PARTY on the other. A real smoker. The Coachwhips deliver the magic as usual. On "our" side, it's three songs that were recorded during the "Black Forest" recording session, during a break when Erin left briefly for a family emergency (everyone's ok). So Lars, Woodhouse and I busted out a few quickies, and voila. One is an actual Intelligence song ("Dating Cops") and the other two were improvised on the spot. When Erin came back I took a break, he jumped in and they shat out a new DIPERS song "Lonnie Be Bad." That one's not on the record, but I'll put it up on the songs page when I've got a few minutes. And I should mention this is one of the THICKEST 7"s I've had the pleasure to fondle. Think the most recent BRAINBOMBS single or those early BLUTT records.

Also I had the wrong day listed on the next Intelligence show. It is SATURDAY April 30 (not Sunday). Thanks Tai for pointing that out. Krunk. I'm VERY SORRY that A Frames had to cancel the Bellingham show with virtually no notice. I had a family emergency of my own that came up.
