The other day while i was researching on "No Sales System" idea, where affiliates/webmaster can make money without selling products or services. One of it main focus was "Pay per Install" programs. To understand it better i decided to discuss with folks already into this idea and so joined a pay-per-install forum. On one of threads guys shared their IM ids to discuss things in person. Randomly i picked few and added to my msn messenger. While started conversation and after sharing few ideas of my own a person turned out to be a teen looking for earning cash online. He told his father passed away and his mother is house wife. So at the age of sixteen he is looking ways to make money online to buy a laptop as well as paying the tuition fees as his mother couldn't afford his eduction.

He had no investment to make so had to find out some ways to monetize free stuffs. Somehow he got to know about the pay per install system that allowed him to make few hundred dollars per month.

He found out ways how to bundle a softwares, screen savers, wallpapers, or other software utilities. Where he was being paid per install whenever someone downloads and installs his bundled software by downloading from torrent sites.

Well, thats what internet is... that enables people of any age, any race where even teenagers who have to go out and exploit themselves except from the lucky ones to give opportunities to play in the fair-grounds.

Affiliates First Flight

Well, its not the short story of a Sea-Gull. Its going to be two-three months that things has been setup. The site with affiliate links for selling items, the landing page to receive leads, content is up with ad setup, trying direct-landing ppc campaigns, the importance of Search Engine Optimization is realized and somehow executed--- all done after lots of reading, research, expectations are built up based on like paying utility bills, or a car or mortgage installment or kicking the boss---The result is Zero.
Nothing sold, no lead generated, surfers visited but only $0.005 earning for clicking Ads. What the feeling...I have done so much.

And thats the phase where they say 90% of the dudes leave grounds. I am not made for it. The top paying Ads were bluff. I better stuck with 9-5 job or something similar as part time to raise the income.

I wish everybody is lucky enough to make the first flight on first attempt. Thats the rare case unfortunately. The mind-set is really important at the start up. You may be trying hundred attempts and one or two will be turn out to be successful. Is it not the "marketing Principal"? so is the Affiliate marketing!

Least your expectations, as you are here to conquer not to be...! The best thing is to address yourself and always keep notes what you learnt from the failure attempts. You will realize it was not failure but learning cost, once you will be on track. The key is to stay and stay long, consistently and work hard. Always keep your goals that motivated you to come into this affiliate marketing. Once succeeded, " I want to be at home with family" "I want to be boss of my own" "i want to raise my income" "i want to bring some big change" "I can accomplish my tourism as i can manage my online business anywhere, with least effort".
All these goals are archived and many are trying to achieve 'em. and believe me if you get chance to ask or read a super affiliate success stories, these are the same.
They gone through the same situations in start up but they remain solid. Those are not beings form the sky they are just like us. They failed, failed and failed. and only those win who don't take 'em failures but the rule of the game.

Click Arbitrage - Good or Bad

What is Click Arbitrage?
As such this blog is for beginners as well, so first good to define what is concept!
The word Arbitrage may be defined as
"The simultaneous purchase and sale of similar commodities in different markets to take advantage of a price discrepancy."
So like traditional business, Purchasing clicks at lower price and selling them at higher price. The difference is the Profit.
This idea is in for few years and lot as been done in favor and against it. As its been a good attraction for affiliate/web masters. It harmed few big search engines as well. The topic has been hot and even few e-books been written and sold about it.

Have i seen during my surfing?
Most probably--YES. you might seen web sites full of links, search results and somewhere may be top or bottom of page mentioned as "Sponsored link'. These pages might be accessible by clicking on an attractive Ad, under an Ad block of a site that you were going through. Or a domain name was typed, it was mis-spelled or the domain has been expired---and you are taken to that web site full of sponsored links page.
Similarly you are taken to a web site with information stuff, you are looking for and it contains "Ad Blocks" may be from google adsense or other ppc providers. The Ads packs the content in a way that most chances are visitor will click one of it. And stats are if CTR is 10% (depending on content) it might be making profit.

So is Click Arbitrage bad?
Why? Even few big search engines are playing it. e.g. ask.com. I saw an Ad on google when i searched for 'Secured Loans". One of the ad on right bar was written something like it
"Search Secured loans on Ask" and clicking on it will lead to search result page on ask.com with organic results as well as sponsored links.

Individuals and even companies involved in Click Arbitrage business using cheap Google listings and lead to costly yahoo link farm page.
Few PPC Ad affiliate companies like "SearchAnyway" offers full search engine pages that individuals or companies can incorporate with thier domains. It contains a Search box, like any search engine.
Visitors can search and the search results will only display sponsored link. CTR is considered high for these kind of pages.
Although searchanyway, a ppc affiliate program, is not based on click arbitrage affiliate program, but they allow it with quality traffic.
As such Google does not denies it clearly under the Term and Conditions of Adsense for Publishers. Instead they allow it but never directly.

If you are looking some or more money making without spending money the blog is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way. It doesn't require you to spend a single penny.
Genrally to make money online you may need a web presence, i.e. a domain with web pages, with content.
You may get a cheap domain and free or cheap hosting but for a blog like blogger.com you won't require both

Facebook is among one of the largest social network. Few days back someone sent me a link, reported on cnn.com. It was about a security leak. A lot of discussions can be found about that issue by googling it. But as the blog aim during that research I found a tricky way of making some money even by this kind of short-term issue. Ethical or unethical, the judgement is up to you --- since its utlization of an exploitation involving people's privacy.

The Bug

You could view a private profile/Photos of person who are not in your friend's list and they don't have their profiles publicly available.The bug is fixed but what i saw an interesting use of skills.

A webmaster developed a web site service to view those private profiles. The process was divided into 3 steps. The first two are not important here. Third step required to download Firefox browser by using a link given under step 3.

So you are in between when you come across this requirement and you don't have Firefox. Most probably it will be downloaded, installed to complete the third step, as this service was only "compatible" with Firefox.

First when you land to web site you will see a full page adbrite's CPI Ad.
it made some money. Then it has mixture of Adbrite PPC and Adsense PPC Ad blocks, across the page, so chances are 1-2% of visitors will click it.

And the real money making option was step 3, i.e. downloading Firefox browser by using a link. google pays Publishers or Affiliates 1$ for every Firefox Download and Install --- Is not that smart!!

Another smart idea i seen
Almost every one of us who are regular web surfers, use IM services, MSN, Yahoo, AOL or some other. The IM companies usually release developer's kits that seasoned programers can utilize with their own applications.
People get curious to see if someone has blocked or deleted 'em---- as did not see 'em online for long or to see online status of their buddy.
You may google "MSN delete checker" or "Block checker" and will see many web sites giving that services. However be careful, as they require User Ids and passwords in order to check delete status and mostly they are not encrypted.
There you may see almost similar ways to monetize their "struggle". Pop ups, Software downloads, Ad units etc. as described above.
