The man has to have such darkness in him that he borders on evil, but is still redeembable--and the readers have to like him before they fall in love with him. Tough assignment.TracyGhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03324834317261795076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12778111.post-338608266327801522008-07-23T12:29:00.000-04:002008-07-23T12:29:00.000-04:00Hello, Wendy! I thought Gammas sounded so wonderful when I came across the term...Oh yes, Lorraine's newest hero is a great Gamma!

I'm particularly fascinated in the Black-Hearted Devils, too. Do you think it's easier to get away with writing/redeeming one of those in the paranormal genre? I'd love to try my hand at one... :)Jo Davishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02132008896370320303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12778111.post-84199784238562532372008-07-23T12:23:00.000-04:002008-07-23T12:23:00.000-04:00Hmmm. But I think maybe Sebastian from Lisa Kleypas's "Devil in Winter" may be a black-hearted devil. He's actually delightfully funny, but unabashedly depraved. It makes his moments of tenderness all the more heart-melting.

Thanks for the food for thought ... and the challenge to write my own black-hearted devil.Wendyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05803569911029840473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12778111.post-61939323322517461662008-07-23T12:08:00.000-04:002008-07-23T12:08:00.000-04:00Hi Jo,Love the post--and the idea of "gamma" heroe...Hi Jo,
Love the post--and the idea of "gamma" heroes. Let's see: "a wonderful sensitive side, but he also has a hair-trigger when it comes to protecting the ones he loves". In my mind that's Lucian from Lorraine Heath's IN BED WITH THE DEVIL.
