The Sparta Public Library just might be the first library in the state to offer the new Amazon Kindles. We just received our first two units, and have been enjoying familiarizing ourselves with these unique, easy-on-the-eyes tools. We're surprised by how many patrons have placed requests to use this newest innovation in reading. When you borrow the Kindle, you'll select titles to add, making this truly a “patron-driven collection device.” We’re sure that this is going to be one very popular service--just another in a long list of services and products we proudly provide!

Contemporary Authors gives a brief biography and list of publications for authors

EBSCOHost is a compilation of databases from encyclopedias to business sources and academic health journals with both full text and citation only results

HeritageQuest is for the amateur genealogist--from immigration records to births and deaths

Magills Literature links to author biographies, bibliographies and citations of criticism

Newspaper Database searches more than 50 newspapers

Novelist is a great source for similar authors or searching for books in certain genres

ProquestDirect searches more than 3600 titles including AMA medical journals

Searchasaurus is a database for kids with age-appropriate articles for research
