It is a Romance language spoken not only in France but also in countries colonized by France - in Africa, the Caribbean and Oceania. The French language is also spoken in parts of Belgium, Switzerland, French Guiana, Indochina, Northwestern Africa, Haiti, parts of Canada and Madagascar.
