Hmm... Speaking of "financial" and "trust" matters, I wonder if anyone knows how many, or what percentage, of Church parishes here in the US have their own credit unions. The same would go for any other regional subdivisions (e.g., dioceses, archdioceses....). Would also like to know if anyone ca provide a source(s) (or link[s])detailing the youngest or oldest of such credit unions, the history of such institutions, or how "successful" (or not) such institutions are.

I've seen stories to the effect that credit unions seem to be weathering this economic "perfect storm." It's an institution that seems to be favored by the Church (somewhat similar to the way Her leadership has shown "official" favor on, say, labor unions or [other types of] cooperatives).
I know already that there are parishes (or regional subdivisions) that have credit unions, but I'm just curious about the overall picture of Church involvement in the US, i.e., how many such Church-affiliated CUs exist in the country.
