Books, DVDS, CDS and Video GamesHi
please excuse my lack of blogging entries -- we've been Sooooo busy adding tons of new materials to the adult collection, check out all the new books, videos, compact discs, and video games. We have something for everyone, from the newest New York Times Bestsellers (they may not be on the shelf) to lesser known new novels. All new books are located right next to the reference desk, so check them out who knows you may discover a new author or learn a new hobby or skill. We also have tons of new music compact discs, everything from classical to jazz to my very own favorite (the Boss) did anyone see him in concert? it was awesome.
We've also added new titles to our ever growing collection of video games. We have games for XBOX 360, Playstation 3 ; and Wii. We tend to buy games that are appropriate for all ages so check those out they are downstairs at the end of the DVDs.
Speaking of DVDs nothing on TV this weekend, we have all new movies, including Marley & Me, Quantum of Solace. We've also started to buy Blu-ray discs, they can't be played on regular DVD players but I hear they are super cool.
So don't forget to check out all new materials, and I promise to blog more often, at least I'll try to.

Lisa at Lincoln Public Libraryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13313097076195573540noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1243386232465256063.post-6108281588338132612009-02-12T15:14:00.003-05:002009-02-12T15:21:46.489-05:00Barcodes are moving! If you've checked out a new book recently (within the last week) you might have noticed that our barcodes which we always placed on the first page of the book have moved. This is a result of a new policy that the Massachusetts Regional Library System has asked all Minuteman Library Network members to use. The goal is to have all barcodes placed in a uniform part of the cover -- this will help the system move towards an automated sorting system. This will help all users with faster delivery times, it will also make it easier for staff at the circulations desk -- no more guessing where the barcode is. For libraries that have a self-checkout machine patrons will be also be able to find the barcodes easier.
This policy does not ask libraries to retrospectively convert their barcode placement this would be take too much time and also money. So anyway watch for the moving barcodes.

Lisa at Lincoln Public Libraryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13313097076195573540noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1243386232465256063.post-82704134903220003682009-01-24T14:11:00.002-05:002009-01-24T14:13:14.191-05:00Vault ProjectDue to the library vault project the short story and large print book collection are temporarily off limits to the public. If you need a title please let a staff member know and we'll get it for you. We have games for the WII, Playstation3 and for Xbox360. The games boxes are on display at the end of the DVD racks downstairs, the actual discs are kept behind the desk. The games circulate for 1 week and are requestable by Lincoln residents only. So have fun we are still adding games so if you don't see one that interests you check back in a couple of days and who knows maybe one will be there.

Lisa at Lincoln Public Libraryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13313097076195573540noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1243386232465256063.post-4160336637023933992008-08-19T11:55:00.006-04:002008-08-21T18:04:58.811-04:00Vault closing September 2 2008The library is just about ready to start a significant renovation of our vault and historical room. I was wondering if people would be willing to share some of their favorite recent books they've read (or listened to). It will be a great way to discover books that you may not have heard about. I'll start of this week I just read the mystery book Mistress of the art of death by Ariana Franklin. Set in 12th century England the plot involves murder, the Crusades and anti-Semitism. A very engrossing story.
So please let me know if you've read anything good, I'm always looking for new authors to discover and I'm sure other people are to.

Lisa at Lincoln Public Libraryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13313097076195573540noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1243386232465256063.post-86931127323628982012008-05-23T12:08:00.002-04:002008-05-29T13:55:55.452-04:00

Lisa at Lincoln Public Libraryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13313097076195573540noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1243386232465256063.post-60927866170021729732008-04-01T13:58:00.002-04:002008-04-01T14:01:43.377-04:00Kindle?Hi we're wondering if anyone has bought an Amazon Kindle?
