The Hudson River

I noticed something strange in a cab home on Monday night. I may have been driving in the Hudson River. I took a red eye to NY Sunday night/Monday morning, so I thought perhaps I was delirious from working a 2 show day with no sleep. It just so happens that my boss/friend Paula was in this cab with me and she had slept the night before. Thank GOD I had a camera ready device.

I said to the cab driver "Excuse me sir, are we in the Hudson River?" No reply. Go back to sleep Pam. By the time I got to Brooklyn I had reached New Jersey. Weird.

Pam is currently on a summer hiatus.

I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. To hold you over here is a quick update:

I've had off 2 weeks in the last month. It's nice. I am off next week and heading to Dublin and then Spain. That's nice too. I have played out the Nicole Atkins EP- Bleeding Diamonds. She's really nice. I purchased Guitar Hero II and two guitars and have played that an awful lot. It's super nice. I just read A Thousand Splendid Suns, which was a good read, but not so nice. There is nothing nice to tell about a woman's life in Afghanistan over the last 30 years... well not in this novel. Read it.

I hope life is treating you all well. I am currently enjoying the summer and spending less time farting around on my computer. I think that's a good thing.

Oh, The Shows I've Seen

Long time no update.

I have been super busy with work and my personal life. The last time I updated I told you about Arcade Fire... good times. Here's a quick list of what I have been up to:

5/12- LCD Soundsystem at Studio B- Holy Crap was this a fun night. A sweaty dance party. It doesn't sound appealing, but it was so much fun.
5/14- Mando Diao at Bowery Ballroom- Love these Sweedish rockers. They played too much new stuff and not enough of the old, but a tight set indeed.
5/15- Arctic Monkeys at Hammerstein- I haven't seen a mosh pit in ages. Good times.
5/16- Mets vs. Cubs at Shea Stadium. This game had a major rain delay. It didn't start until 10pmish. We celebrated Fetter's 28th birthday at the stroke of midnight (Sans beer :-( stadium not serving any)
5/17- Dentist to fill cavity- boo.
5/18- Mets vs. Yankees at Shea Stadium- We win!
5/21- JAMC at Webster Hall- Great show, but they almost broke up AGAIN before our very eyes!!

So you see kids... I've been very busy. It's all fun and games until somebody gets wiped out.

Oh My Effing Gee!!!

The Arcade Fire did not disappoint. I had high expectations and they came through. Holy crap. Tight. Going to shows like that is the reason I love music.

Let me tell you something about myself. I hate begging for encores. Hate it. Anyone of my concert buds will tell you it's my least favorite part of the show. Sure I love the encore, but don't make me beg! I am still going to buy your album and cheer for you. With that being said... I was freakin' moved by the crowd humming Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) over and over, pleading with them to come back and play some more. Moved I tell you!!! I was completely part of it and loving every second. I didn't mind being part of it.

There was something so powerful about a room of adults (very diverse age-wise) singing along to Wake Up... If the children, don't grow up. Our bodies get bigger, but our hearts get torn up… Goose freakin' bumps.

Ok, ok, ok... Enough of the fluff. It wouldn't be Pam-like if I didn't have at least one complaint. Only a 2 song encore??? No Crown of Love??? Otherwise- great show, I wish I were going again.

Believe the hype and go see these guys (and gals).

P.S. The National were really good too! Sorry for not mentioning that earlier.

Medium French Vanilla Iced Coffee with Milk

Greetings Internet Users:It has been a while since I properly updated and my hits are dropping! I used to get something like 150 hits (I blocked myself so nice try) per day and it has dropped to something like 60. Can hardly blame the world.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CYNTHIA!!

My little sister turned 2 dozen on Saturday- that's right Cinco de Mayo. She was disappointed there wasn't a mention on Friday. Since she is probably one (if not 5) of those 60 hits I should appease her. Please don't leave me!

We went out and had a blast at Ace Bar. We were playing Skee Ball like it was a major sporting event. I did well until I lost 3 times to Cynthia. I just let her win because it was her birthday. I had spent the day at a really cool (and we know that I know what cool is) party at my friend Chris's crib. I haven't been to one of those since college... Fun times and very cool people. Needless to say I was zonked come evening time, but I pulled it off. That's right- I still got it.

Things I am excited about:

-Arcade Fire tomorrow at Radio City
-LCD Soundsystem on Saturday night- uber dance party
-Baby Donny- oops, I mean Danny
-Mando Diao, Arctic Monkeys next week
-A week off after Memorial Day to do nothing!
-Mets-Yankees game next Friday (and the Mets-Cubs on Wednesday)
-Trip to Southern Spain in July with my pals Fetter and J9!!!

So yea, I booked a flight to Dublin, en route to Malaga (still can't pronounce it correctly), Spain. This may be my last big trip of my 20's (always have to justify something), so I am going out big with 2 cool freakin' people.

This is so iced coffee weather and I love it!

I had a wonderful Friday, a great Saturday and a beautiful Sunday. The warm weather makes life so much better, doesn't it?

I realize that Coachella was this weekend. I haven't read any reviews yet.

I have a tattoo on my lower back that I got when I was 18 or 19. A lot of people would hide that sort of thing from their parents had they not condoned it. I went home and proudly bent over so my Mom could see it. She rolled her eyes and told me I should learn to hide things from her.

Don't know why I just shared that.

Do you know my full name is Pamela Marie? No one other than my family calls me Pamela. Walter told me today that Pamela was like a different person and I wasn't a Pamela. I am a Pam, but he's wrong. I am a Pamela. It says so on my birth certificate. I do introduce myself as Pam.

My friend Suzy is so knocked up. She sent me pictures of the baby in her belly. His name is Danny and he has big testicles (picture not included). He won't be coming out until June. I am going to be his favorite Aunt Pam (and only Aunt Pam as far as I know). Here he is all warm and snug inside. Watch out kid... It's a cold, cold world. (I am joking Sue)

My friend Jenn just had a baby (#2). Her name is Charlotte Marie and she is going to grow up thinking that I don't like her name because I once mentioned to Jenn that I liked another name better. I do like her name. It's pretty and so is she. She's only a little peanut right now. 5 pounds, 6 ounces. How stinkin' cute.

P.S. I saw Tokyo Police Club last night (Dr. Dog on Thursday, Black Angels on Saturday) and they rocked!!! Such a good show- great music and energy. Yay.

My friend Tom Ruprecht (writer for the Late Show) just had his first book published. How cool is that??? It's called George W Bush: An Unauthorized Oral History, how cool is that!!?? Tommy is my favorite writer. His office is next door to my quasi boss, so I have the pleasure of seeing him almost on a daily basis. Here are 3 things I like about Tommy:

1. He's really funny- like side-splitting funny
2. Has great taste in music
3. He can talk to dogs so that they understand

Tommy is a Cancer and he likes salad sans dressing. He also likes squid. Oh yeah he likes buying baseball shirts and other random collector items online. I recently discovered that he has Ansel Adam's Tetons and The Snake River hanging in his apartment; I have it in my bedroom. I think we may be soulmates. Here is a HOT picture of Mr. Ruprecht:

Pam Is Cool: Blog of the Year... NOT

Hellooooooo Nurse.

Things are going well in the world of Pam. Not out of the ordinary well, but stable-well. A lot of shows lined up for the next 2 months and excitment of course prevails. I finally got tickets to see Arcade Fire!!

How about those Mets??? Am I right people? 3 and 0. We'll see how they do against the Braves tonight who are also starting off the season well. Cynthia and I have our 7 pack for the season and our 1st game is 4/20. Sweet.

So on to more important matters... My blog. While I am not ready to completely give it up, I have apparently lost the passion and will to write in it daily. Sad times, but I assure you I will not go out with a drip. I'll figure something out.

Believe It Or Not

I am speechless!!

I have been trying to think of what I can write on my blog and I have come up with NOTHING. I thought about writing about what new shows I watch (The Riches), but changed my mind. The book I am currently reading (The Memory Keeper's Daughter) hasn't moved me enough to write. All of the new music I listen to couldn't even fit on this page, so you can just keep a close eye on the ipod to see what I am listening to. Next week starts the crazy month of shows... Fun.

I have been going out a lot lately, but those stories are better kept off the internet. In a perfect world I would be able to blog about them...

Today is my Aunt Julie's Birthday! Happy Birthday Jules!! I have to call her actually so I hope that I call her before she reads this.
