Next, Charlie Kirchoff and I reacently had a table together at Heroes and had a blast. Turns out he lives 45 min. away in Virginia Beach! He did up some colors on the Thor that Jonboy and I did. Check 'em out;

Next up is the second and last photo that took at Heroes Con. This was one of the best costumes I'd ever seen. She really spent alot of time on it. It's the Wonder Woman costume from the Elseworlds one-shot Amazonia;

Today was my last day with General Dynamics. I start my new job on Monday.

Yeah, nervous, excited, anxious, happy....all rolled into one. :):)

HEROES CON!!!

...has come and gone. It was a blast, YET AGAIN, and I am sorry I haven't said anything here before now, but it's been a stressfull month and a half for me.

See....I went and got a new day job. Yeah, I know, it doesn't have much to do with inking or this blog, but when it comes to, hopefully, leading a better life, making more money for my family and generally just being happier, it does matter. I was very scared and apprehensive when I first heard about it so i didn't want to say anything. I didn't even tell my wife. A few weeks went by and I was still a bundle of nerves until the offer letter arrived and I could breathe again. All the while still worried that something would go wrong. Well, as it stands now, I start this coming Monday, June 30th. The start of a whole new chapter. And i honestly can't wait. :)

ON TO INKING AND ART!

Yeah, Heroes was great. Got to hang out with my friends Tim Townsend and Jonboy Meyers. I even got commisioned to do something I've never done before. Ink an entire page of Jonboy's in a day. Here it is;

I was EXTREMELY nervous, as I'd never before inked Jon that fast. We were all really happy with how it came out. Here are a few other pieces that I did ;

Still working on Miranda. As some of you know, there's been a halt at the publisher due to some "restructuring" going on within the company, but never fear, when Miranda returns to the stands, it will be in force. We are still diligently working on the books. And boy, do they get BETTER.

Also working on the next issue of London Horror Comics. Those are fun too.

This blog is going to get VERY active this fall so stay tuned...

FCBD '08

My good friend Otis Frampton put this together and I'm REALLY impressed with it. Despite it being a slow day for a typical FCBD, we had a good time. It's always nice to hang with a friend.

Another topic, and friend I'd like to bring up is Travis Johnson. He's recently brought all of work stuff online into a massive online comics venture called VariancePress.com I urge all of you to check it out, Travis is one of my very favorite writers.

A Legend has Passed

Dave Stevens 1955-2008

Dave Stevens died this week and it really ......sucks. I didn't know Dave, I had the pleasure of meeting him in 2002 at my first SDCC and it was great. He was very nice, he signed my Rocketeer books and I got to browse through his stunning artwork and sketchbooks that he had for sale. I'd always wanted to meet the man that introduced me, and an entire generation of pubesent boys to the Notorious Bettie Page.

His artwork introduced me to sensuality in art. His renderings of countless women were the stuff of a master and every cover he ever did instantly brought a smile to your face. (Thanks to Jamal Igle for the photo of Dave.) I loved The Rocketeer. The comic and the movie. I never understood why more people didn't like the movie. It was really just a fun movie and you don't find too many more of those made anymore. He will be missed.

Just LOOK at that!!!! :):)

I have to apologize for not updating more often, with the impending release of Miranda Mercury here...TOMORROW...I should be doing this more but see, I can't. I can't because I do most of my blogging from work and my work has decided to BLOCK all blogspot.com addresses.

First I want to make everyone aware of something new going on, it's called the Inkwell Awards.

Click the link for all the information you need. The Inkwell awards are an appreciation and recognition for the craft and artists of comic book inking. This is something that I whole-heartedly support, being an inker myself.

Miranda Mercury #295 FINALLY see print and shelf-space tomorrow, Feb. 27th. It's pretty exciting for us, the team behind becasue some of us have been talking and working on it for the better part of 2 years now. Along with a great article on future stories of Miranda there's colored and lettered preview of #296 over on Brandon Thomas' new Ambidextrous column.

For anyone reading this that's local to me, I'll be signing tomorrow at both AF Comic locations from 11-5 any and all copies of Miranda Mercury. They ordered a lot because they want it to be as successful as the rest of us do. Hope you can make it. :)

Will wonders never cease. Thanks to my partner in crime Lee Ferguson, I landed my first DC Comics gig. It was 8 pages but I'm hoping you can notice my work in there. Here's a little tidbit from the issue. :)

Supergirl #26, goes on sale Feb. 6th. Here's the cover (which I had nothing to do with, btw) by Drew Johnson, Ray Snyder, and Brad Anderson.

It was a wild and crazy week as we finished off the issue in record time, but all worth it.
Miranda is moving along VERY nicely and you should see more images coming from that soon.
