Yet, she feels she knows the heart of King, and that he would NEVER have approved of comparing the gay rights movement to the black civil rights struggle, not to mention marriage equality.</strong></span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;"><strong></strong></span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;"><strong>Never mind that King's wife and his eldest son have come out in favor of gay rights. Never mind that King's closest <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">advisers</span> have come out in favor of gay rights, and believe that King, if alive today, would never tolerate the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">discrimination</span> gays feel in this country. Little Bernice King, barely older than a toddler when her father died, knows all. She has organized and led anti-gay marches, organized opposition to any legislation that would provide some form of equality for gay Americans, and she has been very vocal in her opposition to marriage equality. The decree stated that placing children with gay couples "did violence to the children." The San Francisco Board of Supervisors issued a non-binding resolution critical of that decree, stating it contained language that was "hateful and discriminatory." It also asked the local arch-bishop to ignore the decree. In response, Catholic Charities of San Francisco stopped placing children for adoption with any families.</strong></span></div><div><span style="font-family:verdana;font-size:130%;color:#000000;"><strong></strong></span></div><div><span style="font-family:verdana;font-size:130%;color:#000000;"><strong><p>Enter the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights (what an oxymoron that is). They filed a lawsuit against the board, claiming their actions violated separation of church and state (another bile-producing moment). The lawsuit was thrown out by the Ninth Circuit Court.</strong></span></div><div><span style="font-family:verdana;font-size:130%;color:#000000;"><strong></strong></span></div><div><span style="font-family:verdana;font-size:130%;color:#000000;"><strong><p>But it doesn't end there. The lawyers for the Catholic <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">League</span> for Religious and Civil Rights have now publicly compared the Board of Supervisors to the Nazis. While they wallow in their perceived political power, it never occurs to them that they are just being used.
