They are a modern literary form, and when done right I think they can be very insightful, informative, or otherwise interesting. My new blog, amongst other things will keep me writing on a more nor less regular basis - something I think is important for everyone.<br /></div><div><div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">If you are looking for race reports and babble about training, you won't find it here - necessarily. In fact, while I still race, I no longer <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">train. </span>Though, I still ride and practice fast riding quite a bit. I'll say more about the train/practice distinction in a later post. Instead, I'll be taking a more holistic approach, which should prove to be far more interesting. Hopefully, the blog will bring to presence the numerous intertwined aspects of my modern life as a young adult living in a major metropolitan area and my analysis of them. In that way, the blog will have a philosophical, scientific, and political flavor to it.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I think this approach will also provide a more accurate conception of who I am for the readers of my former blog. I have found that there are limitations to thinking of oneself merely as a "cyclist" or "bike racer" - or for that matter, any one thing in particular - and so, similarly, there are limitations to presenting oneself in such a one-sided manner. I'll write more about self-identity another time as well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">So, enjoy my new blog. It should prove to be richer in content, and I hope educational for its readers. Expect labeled entries such as 'Savage Legends' - tales of the legendary bike riding my friends and I carried out in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee, 'Urban Culture and Civilization' - my experiences with people living in the Detroit area, and 'Bike routes' - self-explanatory, I hope.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Also, smart-asses will not be tolerated. I will crush you - yes, YOU.</div></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/12017974-7900319219239342491?l=rlaprairie.blogspot.com'/></div>Randy LaPrairiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03340592386646593015noreply@blogger.com1
