Normalizing line endings in notes.
Sorting by last accessed date is now respected after visting URLs.
Now setting the last accessed date when visiting a URL.
Now strongly discouraging empty master passwords.
Only displaying memory warning when OS warns us /and/ available memory is too low.

PasswordWallet 4.4.3 for iPhone is now available from the App Store on iTunes! With 4.4.3 we're continuing to improve reliability and user experience:

Keyboard for notes will only display automatically if notes are empty. Otherwise just tap the notes area for the keyboard to appear.
Entries with no title will appear in the password list in grey, with a title of "(untitled)".
Added "system locale" to log header.
Added memory information to the bottom of the About Box.
Users will be warned before they create a wallet with no password.
Keyboard for category will be hidden if categories exist.
Removed "Green" background.

We just revved PasswordWallet for iPhone from v4.4.1 to v4.4.2. It's just a sub-dot release, but you'd never know it by how much work we put in to it. We heard your complaints loud and clear and revamped our code to improve stability and memory usage. Hopefully all of this work will alleviate most of the hardships.

We also improved the user interface for more streamlined entry. And everything just sort of works better.

A quick side note: Our beta testers for 4.4.2 were just phenomenal. And in the end they all said that 4.4.2 was significantly more stable than 4.4.1.

A few more noteworthy changes...

The built-in browser now gives users the option to load secure pages from servers with bad or expired certificates. (Not allowed before.)
More reliable auto-typing of Username and Password values in to web sites.
PasswordWallet now locks when your iPhone goes to sleep.
The keyboard no longer automatically capitalizes usernames and passwords. (Sorry about that.)
Logging has improved dramatically. Keep sending us those logs! They really help! [Main]-> [i] -> [Logs]

4.4.2 was submitted today. So hopefully Apple will approve it for the store by the end of the week.

And we discovered something along the way: Our bookmarklets that used to be the only way to run PasswordWallet on your iPhone also work on lots of other devices running Apple's WebKit technology, such as browsers in modern Blackberry, Android, Symbian and Nokia devices! We've even created a streamlined way for you to export your data to special web pages that can be bookmarked right from your device. And it's a great solution.

And for devices without a whole lot of memory, PasswordWallet bookmarklets can be broken up automatically. Just specify their size when you export!

PasswordWallet is now available for WindowsMobile! A friend of mine is a Windows Wizard and he whipped up a magnificent program for us. PasswordWallet for WindowsMobile can handle multiple PasswordWallet files with full synchronzation of all changes with PasswordWallet for Mac OS X.

I cannot begin to tell you how many e-mails we received about PasswordWallet for iPhone. This was a really long road for us. And y'all have been incredibly patient. So... We added a few neat little features to PasswordWallet 4.3.4. For a little added security PasswordWallet document windows can no longer be captured by background apps using Leopard's new windowing APIs. Give it a try:

Open your PasswordWallet document.
Type command-shift-4, then hit space. (also hold down control to capture to the clipboard.)
You won't see your entries in the capture, you'll just see a blank window. :-)

And we've also made minor changes to window saving/re-positioning code so it's a little more forgiving about screen edges.

On the iPhone side, we'll now warn you if JavaScript is turned off. PasswordWallet for iPhone of course requires that JavaScript be turned on. And we seriously reduced the size of the bookmarklet so us iPhone can squeeze even more passwords on to our devices! Oooh!

3.0.1 has much faster discolosure of various controls within the MoonMenu control panel; adjustments to the UI to accomodate wide display; and messages about daylight savings time. 3.0.1 also fixes a time zone bug that previously offset quarter predictions incorrectly and removes a (pretty embarrassing) memory leak.

MoonMenu isn't Dead! Presenting MoonMenu 3!

We've rewritten MoonMenu from the ground-up in Cocoa. It sports a beautiful fading window with collapsible panels, gorgeous moon images, and a really cool control that you can use to scrub the current lunation (New Moon to New Moon.) MoonMenu is just an app. Nice and clean. And filled with Cocoa goodness.

We haven't updated MoonMenu since 2001. (Has it been 6 years?) It was one of our first Carbon apps. CarbonLib, even. It's nice to have it back!

PasswordWallet 4.3.2 fixes the last of our Leopard Conflicts

PasswordWallet 4.3.2 fixes two fun bugs in Leopard we had to work around. The first was a fun one: many apps on Leopard will emit an incomprehensible warning into Leopard's Console ("NSDocument called FSPathReplaceObject() and -39 was returned") when they're trying to save a document with some inconsistencies. We now check for those inconsistencies and try to repair them. The result is fewer incomprehensible warnings for those of you who look at the Console. And documents that can actually save.

And the Color Panel is awful chatty. Especially in Leopard. The Color Panel is that color wheel window thing you'll see in some programs. Apparently the Color Panel broadcasts a color change even when it's invisible... and not even clicked! So we added a bunch of code to make sure we only listen when we ask it to talk.

Sounds like a bad parenting book, doesn't it?

SmartWrap 2.7.5 fixes issues with MailSmith and our Scripting Addition un-conflicts with NetNewsWire
