The video has some striking pans. And amazingly he used a digital SLR - not a video camera - to capture the footage. He also provides a full (and we mean full) making-of video to show you how he did it.

Art-ificial Intelligence

Top Men have never seen any species besides ours paint anything recognizable - let alone a self portrait. Sure it's probably just a trained and repeated behavior, but we buy paintings this-weekend-only from starving artists who do the same thing.

Besides, let's face it, for some reason we secretly want animals to be smarter than us.

Flying Penguins

This amazing breed of antarctic penguin has adapted an astounding way to battle the cold. It truly is an amazing sight to behold.

But Top Women have discovered that after a winter gorging themselves on jungle berries, they're too heavy to take flight back home again. Their berry-fattened bodies are easy targets for jaguars. This unfortunate scenario has begun a dire trend as other species of penguins are beginning to mimic the behavior and learning how to fly as well. The potential mass exodus has biologists from all over the world very concerned. The antarctic food chain will be so disrupted that many antarctic animals may soon follow by beginning northern migration patterns.

Musical Magic

Top Men are simply amazed at this video. Granted it's not a finished product yet, and there are bound to be some limitations, but this is one of those tools that Top Men would not have believed possible.

It just further reinforces the strange fact that the most important musical instrument any band needs is a computer.

Huygens Again

It's been over three years since the thing landed on Titan, but we just stumbled across a large version of a movie we posted almost two years ago. Striped-bergs

Who knew that icebergs could come with stripes. The scoop is that blue stripes are frozen water, greenish stripes are colored by algae, and brown/black stripes are rock/stone/dirt. Top Women love how the world we live in never ceases to amaze.

A Bigger Tigger

Particle Man

It's been a couple years since we posted the World of Sand particle simulation. For any aficionados - take a look at this newer, crazy adaptation. Powder, magma, seeds, water, fire, fireworks, wind, superballs, explosives, and more.

For some quick fun - add plenty of water, a good helping of nitro, and finally a good swoosh of magma. Oh and set the BG to various settings for some amazing effects! Such power at our fingertips.

We're not sure what it is about crazy 2D particle simulations that intrigue Top Men, but we think it has something to do with watching how the universe might work - on a very small, but still unpredictable scale.

Very Cross Winds

Top Women expect that not everyone on this E Ticket ride had their hands raised in the air.

The Lufthansa Airbus A320 was landing a week and a half ago in Hamburg Germany in 50 mph crosswinds, and was being flown by a young co-pilot. After this aborted landing the pilot took over for a successful landing the second time around. The plane evidently escaped with only minor wing damage and was flying again in short order.

Shuttle Jumper

With Endeavour on the pad and ready to launch tomorrow, Top Men thought we would give the teeming masses a chance to set their alarms to watch the 2:28 am (EDT) launch live. It's one of the rare launches in darkness - there's only been one other night launch in the last five years.

And BTW, Top Men managed to scratch a line off of their bucket list last month

Marbling

It's always an amazing thing to stumble on entirely new (yet evidently ancient) artistic techniques. Top Men had never heard of Marbling except as it applies to a nice juicy ribeye. We're assuming that the majority of the teeming masses haven't either, so we're bringing you up to speed with this collection of movies.

These movies demonstrate the primary marbling technique of floating inks or paints on water. The resulting images can be "printed" by laying a sheet of paper on the surface.

Briggs-Rauscher Reaction

You gotta love it when a couple high school science teachers do something in the 70's to get a chemical reation named after them. The two read about some obscure chemical reaction discovered by a Russian in the 1950s and modifed a couple chemicals to produce a striking chemical oscillation. The oscillations normally continue for about ten cycles.

Top Men would like to note that non-biological chemical oscillations were not even thought to exist prior to the 1950s, and through the wonder of modern technology you can watch it before your very eyes.

The human body is a miracle of design and a wonder of beauty, especially when viewed comparatively. (Increased color saturation doesn't hurt either.)

Top Women are particularly intrigued with the human eye - like those displayed in this... ahem... iArt. The diversity in color and structure is nothing short of amazing.

Next on Top Women's agenda is finding the perfect high-resolution retinal photography for the teeming masses!
