Well I have done it and am now a .com so my new website address is http://japhesbears.com I know I have not been very active for a while creating bears but things have been tough lately since John died it has been hard to get creative, I start each day full of good intentions and plan in my head what fur to use etc etc but by the time I get around to actually starting the bear the good intentions have gone and i end up going out or just aimlessly surfing the internet doing nothing in paticular. I have just finished a bear though and hopefully it will be up on Ebay at some point over the next few days or so.
I also need to redesign my website something I will do shortly but again because my computer crashed I lost alot of graphics and software that I had spent many years creating and collecting so have to start from scratch again :o( well lets hope I can sort myself out soon. Wish me luck.

Computer Crash

Yesterday My computer decided it was not going to work any longer. It has been my best friend for the last 7 yrs it had everything on there I needed all the great software lists of my favourite websites, log-in information for theses sites, my graphics and artwork, from my years using Paint shop pro, and my old and and new website and soooooo much more. I called a repairman out he tried to fix it so I would not lose everything but no matter what he did a reformat of my pc was needed although he did manage to save some of my documents I am now left with an empty computer and have to start all over again from scratch so please learn a lesson from me BACK EVERYTHING UP Please I used to do it on a regular basis but had got lazy and have not done it for the last 2 yrs:0( Oh Well there are worse things that can happen I know but it is heartbreaking to lose all of you valuable work.

My first new Bear "Suki"

Well I did it :o) This is Suki I just wish the pictures had come out better I could not capture all the colours in her fur. She will be going on Ebay Either tonight or tomorrow . I wont be able to except any buy it now offers on her though as I need to let the auction run to try to get my name out there again. I do hope She does well for me. Keeping the wolf from the door

Well life has dealt me a cruel blow with the passing of my husband but I just have to get on and live as best I can. It seems my bears from now on are going to be the only thing that will keep the wolf from the door. I live in a very tiny Village 3 buses a week and I dont drive so now I have found myself totaly housebound with no income. I cannot get myself a job as I would not be able to get to and fro to work so I am going to have to knuckle down and get back into bear making and hope they can provide me with a small income just enough to live on until I can sort out my affairs sell the house and move back home to Wales.
I have been planning for a while to build a website so I will be doing that soon. I will also start doing a few commision bears you can contact me at japhespixels@gmail.com .

Well thats all for now thank you to everyone who has sent me lovely email and messages of support and to all at Teddy Talk a wonderful community of bear artists who have overwhelmed me with all their prayers and best wishes It is true what they say that bear people are the best people.

A break from bearmaking

I am taking a break from bear making for a short time.My Husband passed away on April the 11th. It has been such a difficult time for me. I am taking one day at a time and now I will get through it but my heart is just not in to creating at the moment.

This is "Precious" She is my newest Bear a little larger than my usual bears and a completely new pattern, I drew the pattern as I went this time instead of having all the pieces drawn first. I am very happy with the way she turned out. She will be on Ebay tonight I will pop the link up later.

Well things are a little quiet on the bear front this week. I have 1 bear ready but with the boycott on Ebay this week I will be holding onto her for now, I am also in the middle of a bear but made a stupid mistake sewing him up I sewed both the outsides of the arms together Duhhh I did'nt notice until I got around to where the paw should be and it wasn't there, I was so annoyed with myself lol.

I have this urge to make a big older style bear using mohair, stuffing with Kapok (sp) and putting in a growler. I had planned to do it to celebrate my 12months bear making but I just cant seem to organise myself to start it. Every time I am ready I go to my fabric stash and get tempted by a nice piece of luxury faux fur and the traditional bear idea gets put on hold again but I will eventually get around to it.

I reserected one of the first bears I made this week, No photo's lol way to embarrasing the poor thing had no eyes and has been sat in an old basket under my hall table gathering dust so I brushed him off and gave him eyes and fell in love with him. His nose is awful very badly embroidered his arms and legs are so loose and floppy they feel as if they are going to fall off, but he looked at me with his new eyes and my heart melted so he now sits on my bed and watches over me while I sleep :o)he is the only bear I actually talk to. Maybe one day I will take some pics of him and post them.

Oh well thats it for now if you are wondering about the picture above it is just a render I did a while ago in terragen I just wanted to add a pic to the post and it was the first one I found in my pictures folder.

I recentley bought the most beautiful Luxury faux fur from Honeysuckle furs on Ebay. If you ever need faux fur that is the place to go :o) Anyway here is my new creation using the fur. Meet Blossom she is approx 11inches standing and 9inches sitting she will be available on Ebay this week sometime, hopefully if I get a chance she will be up tonight but I have soooo much housework to do first:o(.

Awww you need sunglasses to look at my new bear Clementine. She is a little sweetie standing just 9" and 7"sitting I had been planning on making her for such a long time but kept putting her off thinking she would be to bright an orange but I am so pleased with the way she turned out. I managed to get a few pics done today of my new bears Dylan & Lucy. They will both be going up on Ebay at some point. Dylan will need a very special and understanding mum though you only have to look at him and his fur gets messed up. He is a little sad as he thinks because he is high maintenance nobody will want him:o(

EDIT 23 Jan 21.34pm : Well I popped Dylan up on Ebay tonight and he got a wonderful new mummy right away he is happy and I am happy.

Lucy is my new Mini she is 5" from head to toe and 4" sitting. I know she is not a mini mini but I think she is still a little cutie.

If anyone is reading this please let me know what you think of them.

I have been so tired today. I suffer from cluster migrains and have had 3 in 3 days it is a rare occurance I only get them maybe once a year but they leave me exausted so I slept most of the afternoon and now its 2.00am and I cant sleep. I am very very very lucky the actual migrain headache I can control and usualy dont get severe pain like others suffer but the disturbed vision, Nausea, and after effects I cant control, Anyway I am now sitting here working on my Mini bear I only have the legs to go so hopefully will finish Her tomorrow or Monday, She is not going to be a mini mini, probably about 5-6 inches, Hopefully she is going to turn out ok (keeps fingers crossed) I dont have any Mini bear fabric so using a short pile Faux fur for her.

Lol I am typing all this but is anyone actually reading it????

Bad Bear Day :o(

I have been working on a bear for what seems like ages now. Today I finally had all the pieces finished and stuffed ready to put together yay. Well not so yay actually :0( First let me say I always complete the head first if it turns out right I go on and complete the rest of the bear, Well this head turned out super cute I was sooo happy with it and very excited as I had visions of it being my best bear to date. So Today I put it all together stuffed it and gave it a quick comb AAAAAARRRRGH it is the ugliest bear ever. Everything is wrong with it, The eyes are to small, the head is to big f0r the body, The neck has disapeared and one leg is longer than the other. I dont think I can salvage anything from it so time to give up an move on. Maybe I will try a mini bear for a change.

Just a little update on my Bad Bear day. I started a little Mini so far so good apart from a little injury while embroidering its nose. I managed to push the needle not only through the bear but through the tip of my finger and nail "Ouch" the strange thing is there was no blood so at least the bear is fine lol.

I am going to watch Celebrity hijack now Eviction night sooo exciting.
