I'm not the greatest when it comes to "was" and "were", "who" and "whom." I just go by instinct. I do know it is better to say "John read the book," instead of "The book was read by John." More power, eh? <BR/><BR/>What about power verbs? Gotta love 'em.

I agree with Norma that it doesn't seem like a year has passed since those original rallies. Fickleness? <BR/><BR/>I proofread a letter for a co-worker of mine. I used a lot of red and put a few sentences into the active voice, describing the reason to him. A good rule to remember.

i think many of the participants in the rally a year ago were in it for the moment and then lost the passion as time passed which is such a shame.<BR/><BR/>anyway, sounds like the bakersfield college meeting went well and more people are introduced to the newest addition to bakersfield culture, TNR. :)<BR/><BR/>btw, great article by chris garza and awesome quote, nl.
