Loved Ones….the United States…the country in which I now reside…is collapsing ...the stock market just nose dived 777 points…financially…socially….environmentally and spiritually…this country is collapsing….

How can this be?

…Lets take a look at how Rome broke up…how Rome collapsed.

Loved Ones…There are adherents to single factors, but more people think Rome fell because of a combination of such factors as...There were many reasons for the fall of the Roman Empire.

Each one intertwined with the next.

Many even blame the introduction of Christianity for the decline. Christianity made many Roman citizens into pacifists, making it more difficult to defend against the barbarian attackers.

Also money used to build churches could have been used to maintain the empire. Although some argue that Christianity may have provided some morals and values for a declining civilization and therefore may have actually prolonged the imperial era.

Decline in Morals and Values
Those morals and values that kept together the Roman legions and thus the empire could not be maintained towards the end of the empire.

Crimes of violence made the streets of the larger cities unsafe.

Even during PaxRomana there were 32,000 prostitutes in Rome.

Emperors like Nero and Caligula became infamous for wasting money on lavish parties where guests ate and drank until they became ill.

The most popular amusement was watching the gladiatorial combats in the Colosseum.

These were attended by the poor, the rich, and frequently the emperor himself. As gladiators fought, vicious cries and curses were heard from the audience.

One contest after another was staged in the course of a single day. Should the ground become too soaked with blood, it was covered over with a fresh layer of sand and the performance went on.

Public Health
There were many public health and environmental problems. Many of the wealthy had water brought to their homes through lead pipes. Previously the aqueducts had even purified the water but at the end lead pipes were thought to be preferable. The wealthy death rate was very high. The continuous interaction of people at the Colosseum, the blood and death probable spread disease. Those who lived on the streets in continuous contact allowed for an uninterrupted strain of disease much like the homeless in the poorer run shelters of today.

Alcohol use increased as well adding to the incompetency of the general public.

Political Corruption
One of the most difficult problems was choosing a new emperor. Unlike Greece where transition may not have been smooth but was at least consistent, the Romans never created an effective system to determine how new emperors would be selected.

The choice was always open to debate between the old emperor, the Senate, the Praetorian Guard (the emperor's's private army), and the army.

Gradually, the Praetorian Guard gained complete authority to choose the new emperor, who rewarded the guard who then became more influential, perpetuating the cycle.

Then in 186 A. D. the army strangled the new emperor, the practice began of selling the throne to the highest bidder.

During the next 100 years, Rome had 37 different emperors - 25 of whom were removed from office by assassination. This contributed to the overall weaknesses of the empire.

Unemployment
During the latter years of the empire farming was done on large estates called latifundia that were owned by wealthy men who used slave labor.

A farmer who had to pay workmen could not produce goods as cheaply.

Many farmers could not compete with these low prices and lost or sold their farms. This not only undermined the citizen farmer who passed his values to his family, but also filled the cities with unemployed people.

At one time, the emperor was importing grain to feed more than 100,000 people in Rome alone. These people were not only a burden but also had little to do but cause trouble and contribute to an ever increasing crime rate.

Inflation
The roman economy suffered from inflation (an increase in prices) beginning after the reign of Marcus Aurelius.

Once the Romans stopped conquering new lands, the flow of gold into the Roman economy decreased.

Yet much gold was being spent by the romans to pay for luxury items.

This meant that there was less gold to use in coins. As the amount of gold used in coins decreased, the coins became less valuable.

To make up for this loss in value, merchants raised the prices on the goods they sold.

Many people stopped using coins and began to barter to get what they needed. Eventually, salaries had to be paid in food and clothing, and taxes were collected in fruits and vegetables.

Urban decay
Wealthy Romans lived in a domus, or house, with marble walls, floors with intricate colored tiles, and windows made of small panes of glass.

Most Romans, however, were not rich, They lived in small smelly rooms in apartment houses with six or more stories called islands.

Each island covered an entire block.

At one time there were 44,000 apartment houses within the city walls of Rome.

First-floor apartments were not occupied by the poor since these living quarters rented for about $00 a year. The more shaky wooden stairs a family had to climb, the cheaper the rent became. The upper apartments that the poor rented for $40 a year were hot, dirty, crowed, and dangerous.

Anyone who could not pay the rent was forced to move out and live on the crime-infested streets.

Because of this cities began to decay.

Inferior Technology
During the last 400 years of the empire, the scientific achievements of the Romans were limited almost entirely to engineering and the organization of public services. They built marvelous roads, bridges, and aqueducts. They established the first system of medicine for the benefit of the poor. But since the Romans relied so much on human and animal labor, they failed to invent many new machines or find new technology to produce goods more efficiently. They could not provide enough goods for their growing population. They were no longer conquering other civilizations and adapting their technology, they were actually losing territory they could not longer maintain with their legions.

Military Spending
Maintaining an army to defend the border of the Empire from barbarian attacks was a constant drain on the government.

Military spending left few resources for other vital activities, such as providing public housing and maintaining quality roads and aqueducts.

Frustrated Romans lost their desire to defend the Empire.

The empire had to begin hiring soldiers recruited from the unemployed city mobs or worse from foreign counties. Such an army was not only unreliable, but very expensive.

The emperors were forced to raise taxes frequently which in turn led again to increased inflation.

THE FINAL BLOWS
For years, the well-disciplined Roman army held the barbarians of Germany back. Then in the third century A. D. the Roman soldiers were pulled back from the Rhine-Danube frontier to fight civil war in Italy. This left the Roman border open to attack. Gradually Germanic hunters and herders from the north began to overtake Roman lands in Greece and Gaul (later France). Then in 476 A. D. the Germanic general Odacer or Odovacar overthrew the last of the Roman Emperors, Augustulus Romulus. From then on the western part of the Empire was ruled by Germanic chieftain.

Roads and bridges were left in disrepair and fields left untilled. Pirates and bandits made travel unsafe. Cities could not be maintained without goods from the farms, trade and business began to disappear.

And The United States was no more in the West.

Even the rise of Islam is proposed as the reason for Rome's fall, by some who think the Fall of Rome happened at Constantinople in the 15th Century.

Loved Ones is history repeating itself?

Loved ones the North Korean leader Kim Jong Il is believed to be recovering from an apparent stroke, South Korea's presidential office said Wednesday, as the communist nation rejected reports questioning Kim's health as a "conspiracy plot."

Speculation has intensified that Kim may have taken ill after he missed a parade Tuesday commemorating the communist state's founding 60 years ago. That followed weeks of being absent from public view and rumors that foreign doctors were brought to the isolated nation to possibly treat him.

On Wednesday, South Korean presidential spokesman Lee Dong-kwan said that President Lee Myung-bak and top officials received an intelligence briefing on Kim's health. The spokesman said in a statement that according to the briefing Kim was "not seen to be in a serious condition."

South Korea's National Intelligence Service reported to a parliamentary committee that it obtained intelligence reports showing Kim recently had surgery for an unspecified circulatory problem, and his condition had much improved, an agency official said.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity citing office policy, did not elaborate.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency, citing lawmakers briefed by the spy agency, reported that the 66-year-old Kim suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, but he remains conscious and "is able to control the situation."

The NIS also reported to lawmakers that Kim is in a "recoverable and manageable condition," and that the North is not in a "power vacuum," Yonhap said.
NIS officials said they could not confirm the Yonhap report.

Earlier in the day, North Korean officials denied that Kim may be ill or that there was anything unusual about his absence from the parade.
"There are no problems," Kim Yong Nam, Pyongyang's No. 2 leader and ceremonial head of state, told Japan's Kyodo News agency, referring to Kim Jong Il's absence.
Song Il Ho, a senior diplomat, said reports of Kim's illness are "worthless" and a "conspiracy plot," adding Western media "have reported falsehoods before," according to Kyodo's dispatch from Pyongyang.

It was not the first time North Korea had sent a message to the outside world through Kyodo. Kim Yong Nam also gave the news organization an interview two days after North Korea carried out its first-ever nuclear test blast in 2006.
In another indication that the North's leader is alive, Pyongyang's official Korean Central News Agency said Kim sent a birthday greeting Wednesday to Syria's leader.
Kim wished Syrian President Bashar Assad good health and success in efforts to make the country secure and prosperous, according to the Korean-language message carried by KCNA.

Early Wednesday, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak convened an emergency meeting in Seoul to discuss the situation with senior aides, an official at the presidential Blue House said.

Lee's office said in a statement after the meeting that the government will continue to follow the situation closely. It said Seoul had predicted the North's leader may not attend Tuesday's event, but did not elaborate.

Seoul's Defense Ministry said there has been no unusual movement in North Korea's military and the heavily armed border between the two sides remained calm.
North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency devoted its coverage Wednesday to stories celebrating the country's founding anniversary and gave no hint of Kim's condition.

It is considered an absolute taboo for state media to discuss the North Korean leader's health in the totalitarian nation where he is revered almost as a demigod.

Speculation over Kim's condition spiked Tuesday after he did not appear at a parade commemorating North Korea's founding 60 years ago, one of the country's most celebrated holidays along with the birthdays of Kim and his late father, Kim Il Sung, the country's founding leader.

Kim, who has been rumored to be in varying degrees of ill health for years, took over the reclusive state upon the death of his father 14 years ago in a hereditary transfer of power. The younger Kim attended the parade on the 50th and 55th anniversaries and was widely expected to do so this year as well.
Since late 2002, North Korea has been locked in a standoff with the United States over its nuclear ambitions.

The country carried out its first nuclear test in 2006, but agreed last year to disable its nuclear facilities in exchange for economic aid and political concessions.

The negotiations, however, hit a snag again recently with the two sides at odds over how to verify North Korea's accounting of its nuclear programs. Washington has delayed its promised removal of Pyongyang from the U.S. terrorism blacklist.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."

In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."

And regarding the bombing and killing of innocent civilians in Iraq she stated...

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan."

Palin told graduating students of the church's School of Ministry, "What I need to do is strike a deal with you guys." As they preached the love of Jesus throughout Alaska, she said, she'd work to implement God's will from the governor's office, including creating jobs by building a pipeline to bring North Slope natural gas to North American markets.

"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."

Palin attended the evangelical church from the time she was a teenager until 2002, the church said in a statement posted on its Web site. She has continued to attend special conferences and meetings there. Religious conservatives have welcomed her selection as John McCain's running mate.

Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.
"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."

The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."

Loved Ones…GWBush has few days left in Washington…just enough to create more blood shed with our brothers and sisters around the world…

presently Iraq has sought to ease Iranian fears over a proposed US-Iraq security deal, reassuring Tehran that the pact will not be a danger to Iran.

This pledge was made by Nuri al-Maliki, the Iraqi prime minister, during his meetings with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, and other Iranian officials on Sunday.

Al-Maliki said that his government would not allow Iraq to become a launching pad for an attack on Iran.

"A stable Iraq will be a benefit to the security of the region and the world," he told Ahmadinejad in their talks, according to Ahmadinejad's website.

Al-Maliki also appeared to signal that Tehran would not be squeezed out by any agreement, saying Iraq's "development and stability will be provided through more bilateral cooperation" with Iran.

Ahmadinejad, in turn, underlined that Iran had a key role in Iraq's security.

"The responsibility of [Iraq's] neighbors is doubled in this regard," he said, according to the website.

Ahmadinejad hinted at concerns that the security agreement would mean US domination in Iraq.

"Iraq must reach a certain level of stability so that its enemies are not able to impose their influence," he said, without specifically mentioning the deal.

An aide to al-Maliki said he is is offering assurances in the talks that the US presence in his country is no threat to Iran.

But he will also complain about Iran's public campaign against the agreement as interference in Iraq's internal affairs, the aide said.

The Iranian state news agency IRNA said al-Maliki held separate talks on Sunday with Parviz Davoodi, the Iranian vice-president.

During the talks, Davoodi said Iran will always stand by Iraq, and al-Maliki said Iraq hopes for Iranian help in various areas, including "political, cultural, economic and defence".

Iran fiercely opposes the US-Iraqi security agreement, saying it will lead to permanent American bases on its doorstep in Iraq, reflecting Tehran's fears US forces could attack it.

Saeed Laylaz, a political analyst and editor of the Sarmayeh newspaper in Tehran, told Al Jazeera that the US is not ready to discuss a comprehensive security plan for the whole region.

"They want to talk about security only in Iraq," he said.

"They want to ignore the security concerns of Iran."

Last week, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, a powerful Iranian politician, said the deal would "enslave" Iraqis and vowed it would not be permitted to be passed, and Iran's pro-government press has frequently railed against it.

In another issue affecting ties between Baghdad and Tehran, al-Maliki is like to raise once more the US allegations that Iran is arming, funding and training Shia militia members in Iraq.

Iran has denied the charges, saying it supports Iraq's security and stability.

you translate thoughts into actions…

that is why you are here presently incarnated on this planet …

your actions are what really matters…

not what you sense…not what you think…not what you feel…not what you want to do…not what you desire your willpower to implement…and not what you fully realize…

what is really important in this physical incarnation now…at this moment is what you utilize with these concepts…your actions!

at this precise instant in reality... the only really important thing.... is what you do with these printed words on this computer screen…what you do!…so…treat yourself in a loving fashion, treat others in a loving fashion, do not judge yourself and do not judge others…as we are all here now on this school to learn our lessons…

Loved Ones…you are paying for this…American dollars are paying for this…money you earn and pay in your taxes is paying for this…and spiritually you are paying for this…think about it!

George Bush, the US president, and the neo-conservatives claimed that Iraq under Saddam Hussein, the executed former president, possessed weapons of mass destruction.

They also insisted Iraqi officials and security services maintained contacts with al-Qaeda and committed numerous human rights violations.

But the real reason for the US invasion and occupation of Iraq, as cited by Alan Greenspan, former Federal Reserve chairman, was to secure and control Iraq's oil.

The actions of the US government under the Bush administration have resulted in genocide; their greed to steal Iraq's oil has led to the country's destruction.

Saddam Hussein was a dictator, and Iraqis did want true democracy, a good life and a change that would elevate and advance their country, which once had great wealth and thousands of highly-qualified professionals.

Big lie
But the line that US soldiers are in Iraq to save the Iraqis from dictatorship, liberate the country and propel it forward is a big lie. They are there to protect US greed for oil and for establishing strategic military bases.

They are not there for the Iraqi people.

US actions and imposed sectarian policies have created the "killing fields of Iraq". More than 1.2 million non-combatant civilians have been killed, according to British polling agency ORB.

In what the UN has called the biggest civilian displacement catastrophe in both the 20th and 21st centuries, 2.5 million Iraqi civilians, including the majority of the educated middle class, have sought refuge in Syria and Jordan, while two million have become refugees inside Iraq.

Prompted by a political process that was introduced and enforced by the Bush administration, Iraq has become a war-torn nation with a society that has been ripped apart by sectarian fighting.Women's deteriorating rights

From 1980 to 2000, 15 to 25 per cent of parliament members were elected women. Nearly 50 per cent of Iraqi government staff was comprised of women.

Some two-thirds of the staff of the ministry of foreign affairs was comprised of women.

But women's rights, which were the most protected among developing countries, have severely deteriorated to such an extent that most can no longer leave their houses.

They are forced to wear a veil - even Christian women - and have stopped working in government offices or attending schools and colleges.

This goes to the heart of the lack of security today.

Iraq previously had law and order. Foreign personnel in the UN, members of NGOs and embassies did not have security problems, whether in Baghdad or the 18 governorates.

After the US occupation, there is no security whatsoever.

People do not dare leave their homes even to buy necessities. In 2006, the UN estimated that 120 civilians were killed every day.

Corruption replaces education

The Iraqi education system, which comprised advanced university and college levels, was among the best in developing countries. Now, it is one of the worst.

Most teachers have fled the country; those who remain are constantly under the threat of student abuse, according to the UN. Many students do not attend for fear of kidnapping and they shun religious rituals which are now carried out on campus grounds during study hours.

Iraq was considered one of the world's least corrupt developing countries.

Kickbacks from the UN's Oil for Food programme were diverted to the Iraqi government and used to pay the salaries of civil servants throughout the country.

But the country is now one of the most corrupt in the world, according to Corruption Watchdog Transparency International. Of the 163 worst countries listed in the 2006 Corruption Perception Index (CPI), Iraq is number 160.

The US embassy in Baghdad's report on corruption, issued last September, concluded that "currently, Iraq is not capable of even rudimentary enforcement of anticorruption laws".

Civil service destroyed

Compared to other developing countries, Iraq had one of the best and finest professional civil service staffs.

These professionals were able to keep the country from collapsing during the 13 years of harsh economic sanctions imposed on Iraq.

Most of these qualified people have now fled to neighbouring countries. Hundreds others have been assassinated.

Their positions have been filled with former exiles, members of the Iraqi Governing Council and party member's relatives, many of whom have no civil service experience.

According to the inspector general of the Ministry of Health in 2005, 65 per cent of appointees held counterfeit college degrees and had not even finished primary schools.

Medical crisis

The medical services sector is perhaps one of the most harmed by the invasion and occupation.

Before the war, hospitals and doctors, though impeded by the imposed sanctions since 1991, provided a better health system than those of other developing countries.

Now, the medical system is completely shattered. According to the Ministry of Health's 2007 official report, more than 18,000 doctors have fled the country since 2003.

When electricity, water and sanitation infrastructure were destroyed in the 1991 Gulf War, they were completely restored in less than one year.

Today, after five years of war, the public services are nearly non–existent, although more than $140bn have entered the Iraqi government's coffers since 2003.

Most of the destruction was caused immediately after the fall of Baghdad in April 2003, when the US army allowed rioters to loot and burn government buildings.

Five years ago, Iraq was free from drugs. Iraq today is rampant with drugs and drug addicts.

Loved Ones…The United States of America is only in Iraq to create civil war …destroy the native people and steal their oil..

"An opportunity to think"

4 days ago…last Thursday in my home town…San Jose, California…a large for profit hospital placed a man who had no legs…wearing a filled colostomy bag…dressed in a hospital gown…onto the side walk of skid row and drove away….

This child of our Divine Parents…our brother… then scooted himself across the cement…holding all his belonging in a paper bag with his mouth… till some loving homeless person came to his aide…

Is this what the united states is about?

Is this what we are about?

Is this what is called “democracy”…the rich burning with greed killing those with less…less money…less intellectual skills…

Will anything good come out of San Jose?

In the face of continued reports about killings and reprisals, I understand how some Americans have had their confidence shaken," speaking clearly he continued, "They wonder what I see that they don't."….

Loved Ones…some history may be of interest now…. British and American history 1942-1945…. not too long ago…. at the conclusion of WW Two…. the Americans and the British and the Russians were allies…We 3 were fighting the Nazis in Europe

We three countries were grinding and gradually defeating the powerful German Nazi forces…. pushing them back …as the Americans and British armies pushed back and closed the Military Noose around the retreating German Forces … the Americans and British also armed the growing Underground Resistance…. also while distancing themselves from Russia’s advancing armies…the Russians had lost over 7 million at this point and were focused on attacking Berlin to stop Hitler…

The American and British Command provided the French Resistance fighters and other resistance fighters on the ground with thousands of small arms…ammunitions…. automatic weapons…. demolitions …training for the demolitions targeting public transportation…. and in addition to providing the Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)…we/british and americans provided the materials and the training combined with very specialized covert countermeasures intelligence. …Utilized to manipulate/set-up the resistance fighters…

Allied Command told them to hold off…Ordered them to sit tight and wait for the signal …a song to be played over the Media/Radio…get ready…be prepared…and wait for the signal.

The British and American Commands both gave very direct orders to the Resistance. (Mostly communist sympathizers…not inclined to support a post war British/American Agenda) to sit tight and be prepared... any resistance fighter not going along with the plan got turned in by british countermeasures agents to the Gestapo who quickly made the uncooperative resistance fighter an example…

This strategic maneuver worked well as planned…. for the post WW Two British and Americans…

They made the communists become more easily controllable while the British and American allied forces slowly backed up and maneuvered the powerful retreating Germans into the resistance fighters back yards…very deliberately and specifically crowding them into small localized areas …and then the British and American Forces stopped advancing and encircled both the Germans and the Resistance…. then giving the Radio signal and standing back by while the Germans quickly eliminated all the Communists…. clearing the way for the post war Europe.

Crowding combatants into Specific areas where the remaining comparatively super powered German Army would be forced to easily kill ALL THE REMAINING COMMUNIST and RUSSIIAN SYMPYTHIZERS…

In other words the British and the Americans planned from the beginning …taking the long view and looking at post war Europe…

So for the British and the Americans the best way to insure the Resistance/and any potential opposition to them …… were ALL Killed was the crowding of the Germans into the resistance areas and then to HOLD OFF ALL ALLIED HELP till the resistance was quickly destroyed by the very powerful German war machine…

No match for small arms ….the Resistance got efficiently slaughtered after they got the signal over the Radio/media broadcast…. while British and American Armies deliberately stood by…

Loved Ones…. some leaders lead…some are managed by handlers…and both can make errors in judgement…

Today Saddam Hussein has admitted to the court trying him that he ordered the trial of 148 Shia in the 1980s…and argued it was his right to do so since they were accused of attempting to murder him….

Saddam stood up and declared that as leader made the order so “let the others go!”

"Your honour, you are looking for things and you have clarity in your hands, but you leave it and go looking for the unknown. “

"What do I mean? For instance, the razing of Dujail's groves. I razed them. So why do you go after Taha Yassin Ramadan and Barzan (Ibrahim, two of his seven co-defendants)?

(Ibrahim tries to interrupt, but the judge silences him)

"You have no need to go after other people. I razed the land. I don't mean I rode a bulldozer and razed it, but I razed it.

"It was a resolution issued by the Revolutionary Command Council defining the pieces of land to be flattened for those who were convicted. And that was done. I signed the decree…”

"If it was proved that they were convicted the criminal assault on me, their groves would be flattened. In any case, according to the Iraqi state law, the government has the right to takeover any land for the national interest, with a symbolic compensation.

"I changed this and I made it a significant compensation. That was a change I ordered, your honour…"

Compensation

"... I remember that people from Dujail came and begged me to return the lands.

"So I did, even though they received compensations. I returned it without asking for the compensations back. I returned the lands to them. It's the nations right to appropriate and to compensate.

"Why am I telling you I did it? Because I signed the decree.

If I didn't want to sign, I wouldn't have signed, because the attack happened against me, no one could force me to sign the decree.

"So why are you bringing this man, this farmer from Dujail. (referring to one of the co-defendants)

"And you've brought the head of the Revolutionary Court because he tried them. If I had wanted, I wouldn't have sent them to the Revolutionary Court.

"I did send them to the Revolutionary Court. And they were tried according to the law, just as you are trying (us). So Awad (Bandar, former head of the court and a co-defendant) tried them according to the law, he had the right to try or to acquit according to the law and according to his own judgment.

"If the chief figure makes thing easy for you by saying he was the one responsible, then why are you going after these people, detaining them and searching for one who was responsible?

"You mean, Saddam Hussein would say when he was leader, 'I am responsible, then when things get tough, he would say, 'No, Abdullah was responsible?' (referring to Abdullah Kazim Ruwayyid, another co-defendant)

"No, Saddam Hussein would not do that, and you know that. He's not the type to do that. In the tough times, Saddam Hussein carries people on his shoulders..."

Let the others go

"…If putting a defendant on trial on charges of shooting at a head of state, whatever his name, is considered a crime, then you have the head of state in your hands. Why are you trying other people? They were not presidents, there was only one.

"The head of state is here, so try him, and let the others go their way.

…Our United States representative Condoleezza Rice today defended treatment of those souls illegally held by American contractors….

Loved ones….as you read this covert US transportation of detainees is occuring in Europe, contractors refer to this as "rendition". …

Looking oh so imperial in her refined dark suit…. Condoleezza Rice declared that terrorism "is frankly challenging our norms and our practices, but what I would hope that our allies would acknowledge is that we are all in this together; that when we discover or uncover intelligence, it is very often intelligence that saves European lives,"

"Very often these are not plots that are heading for the United States, they are headed for places in Europe," she said.

She did not mention that rendition is illegal and regularly involves torture and execution after the horrendous torture…like being skinned alive in front of the next torture victim….paid for with your yankee tax money…..

…her verbal retaliation was calculated to intimidate European governments to back off on criticism about what we Americans are each day doing Iraq and its people..

Condoleezza Rice alleged intelligence circumstances prohibited the verification or denunciation of secret prisons and the torture therein.

The international torture convention prescribes nations prevent such treatment as torture and rendition... however those under endowed in our white house have interpreted that as only obliging the United States to do so on Yankee soil…

…not any different than the white house contracting out surveillance on you by “others” outside American borders….(Many of the larger surveillance contracts on American citizens/corporations are contracted out to private agencies in the United Kingdom…)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The United States has evidence that Saddam Hussein is working on a nuclear weapons program, according to Vice President Dick Cheney, who warned of a "possible marriage" between the Iraqi leader and terrorist organizations such as al Qaeda.

In an interview with CNN's John King, Cheney said Saddam has pressed ahead with developing weapons of mass destruction since U.N. weapons inspectors last visited Iraq in 1998.

"He's been free -- and we know he has -- to continue to improve his chemical weapons capability," Cheney said in the interview, broadcast Monday. "We know he has worked to and has succeeded in improving his biological weapons capability.

And we're confident that he has also begun, once again, to try to acquire a nuclear weapon."

The vice president said nuclear technicians are "still in Iraq" and that Saddam is working on what Cheney called "fissile material."

Cheney has been at the forefront of the Bush administration efforts to rally Congress and the international community against Saddam's regime. That effort will be amplified when President Bush goes before the U.N. General Assembly on Thursday and outlines his case against the Iraqi leader.

Complicating the administration's efforts to win support for a military strike against Iraq is the question of U.N. weapons inspectors.

The United States accuses Iraq of trying to develop nuclear, biological and chemical weapons in violation of U.N. resolutions dating back to the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
Bush administration officials question the value of more weapons inspectors, noting Saddam has blocked them in the past and likely would foil such efforts again, even if the inspectors were allowed into Iraq.

But several U.S. allies say there should be a renewed U.N. weapons inspection effort before any military action.

"I obviously, based on the past history, am a skeptic," Cheney said of the value of further U.N. inspections. "Inspectors were in there for seven years and worked for seven years, and they did a lot of good work. But they didn't get everything."

The vice president said Bush has not made a decision yet on what to do about Iraq, but he emphasized the administration's belief that some kind of action is necessary.

"He is bound and determined that we will address this issue," Cheney said. "We have to deal with the emerging threat.

The question is how best to do it. And we'd like to have the support of the international community as we move forward here."
Cheney said last year's terrorist attacks on New York and Washington underscore the threat facing the United States.

"We have to be concerned now about the possibility that we're vulnerable to an attack the likes of which we did not experience prior to last September 11 -- with a far more deadly weapon," Cheney said.

"We have to worry about the possible marriage, if you will, of a rogue state like Saddam Hussein's Iraq with a terrorist organization like al Qaeda."

Al Qaeda, blamed for orchestrating the 9/11 attacks, is headed by Osama bin Laden, who is the subject of a massive manhunt, but Cheney conceded the United States doesn't know whether he's dead or alive.

"It's been several months since we had a solid report on his presence. ... We just don't know," Cheney said.
