As I was turning onto the street beside the OHB Target, a gorgeous cream coated Labrador was doing spins in the middle of one of Nashville's busiest highways. He went running into the Target parking lot. We pulled over and discovered two labs (one cream, one red) with tags and electronic fence mechanisms on their collars, uninjured and well-cared-for.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The red one plopped down on my legs and started to cuddle. The cream one was skittish. As I was getting the phone number off the tag, my heart sunk when I realized it was a vaccination tag with no phone number. A few moments later, I nice couple (Scott &amp;amp; Stephanie) also stopped to assist. Stephanie had a way with the cream one and was able to attract him to her lap, only to discover the same tag. We exchanged numbers last night, and they hauled the two babies to their home. I left the parking lot SICK for the owners. I knew dogs were in great hands with Scott &amp;amp; Stephanie, but still I ached thinking if this had been Flea, how would I be feeling right now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last night, I went to Craiglist to post a bulletin, only to discover that Scott &amp;amp; Stephanie had already posted an ad reading, "FOUND - 2 DOGS - OLD HICKORY BLVD / I-65 / TARGET SHOPPING CTR (NASHVILLE/BRENTWOOD)." I emailed them immediately to say thanks for taking the initiative.This morning at 8 a.m. Scott emailed me to say the dog's owners were at their home picking up the babies. They had wondered more than 10 miles from their home north of the Target!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lots to learn here...1. Don't underestimate the power of Craigslist.2. Watch those electric fences when the power goes out.3. Always stop to help a dog in need, and approach with caution.4. They were obviously doing the cheesy "national buzz" advertising to complement the Inauguration next week. The ad said something to the effect that even Presidents were not bald. That bald men didn't have the confidence to lead because everyone looks at them as subordinate.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Now, they didn't say it just like that BUT that was the message they wanted to get across, playing on the insecurities of the truly weak. So, now we have a culture of men who walk around with hair replacements, hair units, hair plugs and a plethora of money-making hair oriented products that feed on men's insecurities. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;How many times have you been to a party, bar, church or business meeting and just can't stop looking at "that one guys" hair? Dear guys who have bought into this insecurity lie, people behind your back actually feel sorry for you because you think you have them fooled. Worse yet, people are mortified for you because, as we noted at one party a few weeks ago on an acquaintance there, your hair substitute looks really bad.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;You have bought into the lie. Seth Godin in his book "All Marketers Are Liars" talks about how marketing and advertising often tell a lie that people finally buy into. The advertising pulls back and the "lie believers" start to tell the lie and pass it through society thus making the lie even more believable.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;The difference in good marketing that "lies" is that it often lays out a dream that CAN become a reality if someone believes it and "is the change they want to see." For example, a rundown neighborhood is a great place to live. More people believe it, move into the 'hood, start fixing, start helping neighbors and it indeed makes the "lie," a reality.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;In the case of Bald vs. Advertiser, your lie is ridiculous and preposterous. Some of the strongest men are bald. Some of the best leaders are bald. Some of the best looking men are bald. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Leadership, esteem and ability comes from confidence and intergrity that is IN the head rather than the rug and plugs ON the head. So, hair company, I know we are in a challenging economy and you want to make money, but please shut up about "my people." Stop stereotyping us all as the insecure, sad men you prey upon. Call your commercials and ad campaigns like they are, something to the affect, "For those of you listening to this commercial who have insecurity about your appearance, we can make you look even more ridiculous than you feel inside."&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;Thank God I'm bald. It's a BLESSING. Over 60,000 people were on hand to watch the parade.  We decorated the car like a mouse, pictured above.  They snapped the photo before my nose was straight and you can't see the mouse's tail. He and I had been to Six Flags together before, so he knows I'll ride anything.  He was gravely disappointed once we'd paid our admission fee to discover that Greg and I had come to the fair only to see the chickens.  After he pouted for a few minutes, I agreed to consider a fair ride with him. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We found this pretty pink sparkly ride that looked like a fancy Scrambler.  I said, Ah, that looks innocent enough and fun and we jumped on board.  Just let me say, it was the worst experience of my life.
