We have always wanted a home to call our own. Renting was ok, but it just wasn't ours. Well, we bought our home in 2007. We own it, no mortgage, no banks. In hindsight, paying for everything cash was not the best way to go, but in the current economic climate it is helping us immensely to get by.

Along with always wanting a home, I have always wanted our family immortalized in some way in the home. some way so that after we are gone, there will be evidence that we once lived here and called it home.

We had a sidewalk repaired yesterday, and it presented what I hope is that very opportunity.

You know you want to do it. No matter how old, you know you see that wet cement and you want to put your handprint in it. We did just that.

My family and some family friends will be going camping soon, so my wife and I, and our children were checking out camp sites to find that perfect one. I think we found it at Two Mile Run County Park.

The site is right on the lake, with it's own boat dock (electric motors only), secluded, quiet, serene. See for yourselves below. Click the images for full size, not dial up friendly, they are huge.

First panorama, from a no overnight picnic area. Found it by mistake, at the very end of a small dirt drive. No one around, no noise except the wind in the trees and the birds.

Lockport Cave Tour (By Boat)

As a part of our Niagara Falls weekend, we stopped in Lockport New York for a tour of the locks, Erie Canal history, and a boat tour of the Man-Made Lockport Cave. It was inexpensive, and perfect for the family. Here is a short 6 minute video showing some of the tour. I highly recommend it.
