FINALLY----AN UPDATE!!!!!!

I am still working at the Cross in the Woods. I start my fourth year on June 27th. time is whizzing by. I will be a grandfather this year. Both of my sons and their wives are expecting, one in July and one in November. Hooray!! I've wanted to be a grandfather since high school. I am still writing songs with students. Check out www.storysongcreations.com for release dates on the two latest projects and for upcoming changes to that website as well as the program itself and the availability of many of Story Song Creations' curriculum-based songs. I am working on a few projects, Storysong Creations stuff, recording some new and old songs and getting healthier. My 30th high school class reunion is this year. I remember my mother celebrating hers and I thinking how lucky she was to have made it that long. Time marches on and stops for nothing. We never really TAKE time for anything. Instead, we SPEND time doing what we choose to do. I think it best that I spend more time singing and playing and less time eating ice cream. Rock on all you health freaks--just don't cop an attitude when I eat a coney dog once in a while. Got to feed my SOUL, too.

It's December 5, 2005 and I am enjoying a day off. PLEASE, please check out www.storysongcreations.com and see this beautiful website co-created by Michael Robb, Bev West and me (mostly them). It is beautiful. Although my position as Director of Music Ministries at The Cross In The Woods keeps me busy, I have been able to spend some extra time focusing on the songs I've written with students over the years through StorySong Creations. There are samples on the new site. Look for a new maritime record next year!! Gotta go--have a safe and blessed holiday season.

I hope your summer is going the way you planned it. I am settling in nicely at The Cross In The Woods in Indian River, MI. I love it there. I have accepted the position of Director of Music Ministries at The Cross In The Woods in Indian River, MI. The Cross is located just off I-75 30 miles south of the Macinac Bridge. I will still be able to do a few projects outside of my new job throughout the year. If you are heading north, be sure to stop in and see me. Hi everyone. Happy Cinco De Mayo! 05-05-05!! We won't see that for another 1000 years. I have been in the studio both here in Michigan and in Nashville, TN. A young artist named Casey recorded a song Dave Norris and I wrote. Here in Michigan, I am currently working on a new maritime record as well as writing songs for a book project and a childrens CD. Performing has kept me pretty busy between schools, libraries, churches and pubs--a nice, well-rounded musical existence. Check in often and come and see me some time. Peace. Dan.

A note to teachers: Soon, there will be downloadable songs from my Story Song Creations school song writing residencies available at www.storysongcreations.com So far, I have had the pleasure of writing over 500 songs with more than 75,000 elementary and middle school students. Songs will be organized by subject matter as most of them are curriculum-based. They will cost between 50 cents and a dollar per song depending on the number of songs you want to use and even less for teachers who use the songs in their classrooms!!

Anything you can think of to make this website better, please let us know.

Finally, I have (with Michael Robb's help) figured out how to use this website of mine to communicate with you. I look forward to your comments as we keep it going.

I would like to thank my son, Christopher Jay Hall, for doing a great job on my site for the last several years. He is on to beautiful things.

I am currently working on several projects with many wonderful people. I will keep you posted. Check out www.sneakinout.com They are my dear friends. Running wild in the Northwest. Hey, if you are near Flint this Saturday, come and check Kristen and me out at The Soggy Bottom on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd just north of Third Avenue.
