Apparently they favor embryonic stem cell research - not even limited to the clinic embryos - and cloning.

For those interested, Lansing MI area has a public access show on stem cells - Tues. Channel 16 @ 6:30pm (what a surprise to see a segment of it here as the 'stem cell quiz'). Some of the info - like that pertaining to cord blood research and the laws - are available at its sister website: http://www.StemCellsCure.infoMaryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03603196974724251781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10381465.post-1168041402746346482007-01-05T15:56:00.000-08:002007-01-05T15:56:00.000-08:00I am aware of the Governor's positions on these is...I am aware of the Governor's positions on these issues and of the great political groundgame those opposing her have in this regard. However, if Governor Granholm had her way, we would have a similar statute that that which has recently passed in Missouri. In fact, our Governor is on the board of directors for Michigan citizens for Stem Cell Research and Cures (http://www.stemcellresearchformichigan.com/
which is full of misinformation to the point that you could blog about it for a long time (and some of us have!)

Furthermore, our Governor placed a petition on the official State of Michigan website (www.michigan.gov) that asked constituents to support "stem cell research" to the tune of allowing human cloning.

In other words, I am very pleased with our present policies, but am concerned that we won't have them too much longer.

On the other hand, Lydia is completely correct. We are also homeschoolers and due to the hard work of those who went before us, the homeschooling laws are wonderful.Sergehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06648112986475922045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10381465.post-1168027958751949892007-01-05T12:12:00.000-08:002007-01-05T12:12:00.000-08:00See, there you go - the laboratories of democracy ...See, there you go - the laboratories of democracy at work.Royalehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06613555400236481033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10381465.post-1168022817239407742007-01-05T10:46:00.000-08:002007-01-05T10:46:00.000-08:00Thank you for your kind words about my adopted sta...Thank you for your kind words about my adopted state. (I was originally a Chicagoan. Yuck.)

And the home schooling laws are great, too. :-)

What you say makes me more resigned to our having a Democrat governor. :-)Lydia McGrewhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15317227715474813082noreply@blogger.com
