Yeah! I am so excited! Isagenix arrived today! I can't wait to start the program. We have how many days left until Vegas? Shh... Don't tell Rowan!

Tomorrow we start the pre-cleanse days. I'll let you know how it goes!

A new me!

Greetings! It's been forever and a day since I've blogged! Life has been rather hectic. One of these days, I might actually sit down and write out what I did last year from July on!

Rowan and I have a wedding in May in Vegas. We have 3 weeks and counting to the wedding. Today is the 14th of April. We have a total of 25 days to the wedding! Holy Toledo!!

Rowan and I will be trying a new program called Isagenix. A friend of ours has been using it for 30 days and has dramatic results. Figured I would capture my progress on the blog. We are wanting to be more conscious of our health, especially with my being diagnosed with Celiac's Disease (a story for another time). We should be receiving the product by week's end.

Wow! Today is my parent's 42 wedding anniversary! That's a long time. I'm not even that old yet! I only hope Rowan and I will be together that long.

Rowan and I drove down tonight to pick her son, Conor, up from Hee-Haw hell. Better known as Toledo, WA. Small towns and I just don't mix! I worked my tail off to get out of one and never want to go back!

So, this is just priceless! We were coming around a bend in the country. Yes, I mean country, middle of nowhere! And I have to slam on my brakes quickly. In the middle of the road stands a beautiful, puzzled calf. I look to the right and there's these cows looking at the calf like..."What the hell are you thinking...MOVE!" We pull over and proceed to try and get the damn calf back into the pasture. The calf takes off on a buck/trot/run. I kid you not! Here are two citified country girls chasing this calf down the road as it bucks and jumps! I can only imagine what it looked like. A young country kid stopped to help, thinkin' we city folk didn't know what we were doing....but when we didn't give him the time of day and were focused on the calf, figured we knew what we were doin' and drove off.

Needless to say, the calf got to where it needed to be and we were once again on our way down a country lane to pick up Conor. See! I can be nice about where and what we were doing. It's just painful to write!

I'm really excited about Conor coming and staying with us in July. We will have a house full of teenagers for a couple of weeks. I know, it's just sick, sick and wrong to be happy about all that. Check back in on me in a couple and weeks and see if we're still giddy!

Preparation for 3 teenagers!

Holy toledo batman! Do you have any idea what 3 growing teenagers can/will eat in a week's time frame? I sure as hell don't, but I think I will after 7 days! Thank god for Costco and Bulk! Top Ramon is my friend! Needless to say, we have made 2 runs to Costco this weekend. Once for essential needs and some prep for teenagers and one totally for teenagers. OIY!!!

Going to be an interesting summer! Can't wait!

Farmer's market!!!!

YEAH!!!! It's that time of year again! The farmer's markets are out in force! My favorite, Issaquah, is open and ready for business. I love eating an early breakfast at the house and heading to the market.

I absolutely love going through the boothes and seeing the things that people make and sell. And yes, I'm sometimes a sucker for what they sell. Just depends!

But, what I love most of all is getting the flowers for the house for the week. There are generally flowers throughout the house in the summer. It just brightens the place!

Take the time to stroll through a Farmer's market and support the local economy. Who knows! You might just find what you've been looking for!

OMG! Someone pinch me! I gave my 2 weeks notice today. It is actually real. Go figure! I'm going back to Denali Advanced Integration. That just blows my brain. We stopped by the other day to show Rowan where they were located and it felt like home. Is that sick and wrong?

I feel horrible about Rowan getting sick. Yes, I had the cooties first. Yes, I probably infected her. Yes, I know all this!

We had tickets tonight to Norah Jones at McCaw Hall. My friend Dani has been trying for a while to get tickets, but the ones out there are just horrific and spendy. Guess, she's a happy girl now! She's going in our place. Enjoy!!! Let us know how it went!

New Fridge delivered

Yes, I'm excited about a darn fridge being delivered! Go figure! I'm just a dork like that. It fits in the hole, but we could have gone a bit bigger. But, I think we'll like it! Jori was nice enough to stay home today for the delivery.

Apparently Rowan's got my cooties!!! Almost 2 weeks later! She went to the doctor today and she's got a triple threat: Strep, Chest and Ear. Go figure! I'm so going to pay for this, I just know it!

I can't believe it! I got tickets today at 4 PM for the concert tonight at 6 PM! I am so excited! I was able to surprise Rowan. It's a long story, but the short one is that I got tickets and we had a FABULOUS time tonight!!!!

There was this adorable Toe-Head 2 year old boy sitting with his family next to us. He was just adorable to watch throughout the show. His mom gave us chocolate chip cookies! YUM!

Our first picnic!!!

Rowan and I had our official first picnic of the summer! We went in search of our wedding site today with our good friends, Dani and Brandon. Oh and what a beautiful spot it is! Nestled amongst the trees and stones of Bastyr University and St Edwards Park. Who would have thunk it!

The picnic was fabulous! Rowan really out did herself. The rack of lamb was to die for! Definitely need to be doing more picnics this summer!

Interesting call this morning

I was down at the Seattle Traffic Shop minding my own business this morning. I swear! Let me finish! Rowan was taking me back to the SMUT building. Yes, I said SMUT. Seattle Municipal Tower!

I have been patiently waiting for word from Denali. We had that discussion last week, but hadn't heard anything since. And you know how I am! So out of the blue they call me on the way back to the SMUT building. We pull over and I have a short conference call in the Toyota. Any idea how long it's been since I've done that?

I had to meet the new guy today. He sized me up. Wanting to make sure I have the same work ethic and vision that he does. Apparently I do! He offered me a position! WOW!

Appliance shopping

Alright! I finally broke down and went appliance shopping! Not a favorable experience! I literally walked out of Sears pissed off! We had this wonderfully helpful woman in dishwashers helping us. Bought the dishwasher, needless to say. But, she couldn't ring us up for the Fridge. The guy, who spent little to no time with us, was no where to be found to ring us up. They were looking for him, paging him and what not. He finally came running about 5 minutes after I was ready to leaev. Needless to say, I did not buy a fridge from Sears. In fact, I will probably NEVER go back to that Sears because of that experience. I have NEVER walked out on a sale. Ever!

And of course, you have my father trailing after me asking us why we're leaving the store without the fridge. I'll explain in the car just would not suffice. So as I'm walking out the door I casually tell my father and I get the "I'd have done the same thing!" Well shit! Where do you think I learned to do it from? Lordy!

We ended up going to Albert Lee appliance. Much better customer service and better prices.

Killin time....

You can find the darnedest things when you are just simply killing time. Take for instance today for breakfast. I call my parents this morning and chat. A little while later my mother calls asking if we wanted them to come north and go appliance shopping with us. Ah! How cute!

That gave us an hour and a half to kill! Literally! Rowan and I hurried up and showered and ran out the door for breakfast. We wandered to Issaquah Cafe for some good old fashioned breakfast. We split waffles with strawberries, eggs and bacon. Yummers!

Now stop that! I can see those gears turning. How is this killing time the darnedest thing? It's what happened during breakfast at the cafe! So let me finish!

The woman that seated us was absolutely gorgeous. She had this lush dark brown skin. Rowan told her "I hope you aren't offended, but I think you are absolutely beautiful." The woman blushed and then gave Rowan this HUGE huge and thank you. Next thing I know, I'm being hugged. She truly appreciated Rowan's compliment. Come to find out she was from the Ivory Coast.

Come to find out, the woman created her own jewelry and sold it at the Issaquah Farmer's market on Saturdays. Told her Rowan makes her own too! What a coincidence!

Brandi Carlile in Concert!!!

I don't know where to begin. My date with Rowan or the Concert itself. I have memories of Brandi Carlile concerts and was a little apprehensive in seeing her in concert with Rowan. Well, I am glad to report that it was an awesome date and concert! I definately have FABULOUS memories!

We show up a tad bit late (Rowan off work late...) and catch the tail end of the opening act. He was very good. Need to get his information from my friend Jan. We sit down in our sits in pitch black. The woman next to me leans over and proceeds to tell me "We were wondering if you'd ever show up." Rowan looks at me and asks do I know them. I'm like... "Ah no!" Going to be one of them evenings!

I have to set this up for you a little. Rowan and I are heading to the CHAC for dancing with a couple of my friends. Needless to say, I'm not really dressed for a rock and roll concert, unless it's like Marilyn Manson or something Goth!

After the opening act, I have to pee. Yea, you know me. Bladder the size of a pea at times! I lean over and tell Rowan that I need to use the restroom. She's like okay, I'll move. I'm like no, I'd like you to go. She gives me this look. It was priceless. It was that WTF, you're a big girl look! I whisper... "I am not comfortable being dressed like this here and am self conscious." She still gives me that look. Alright! I fess up. I don't like going around crowds of girls. I just really don't know how to act and it makes me really really SHY!!!!

She finally puts me out of my misery and agrees to take me to the restroom. The lobby is packed! We have to wiggle (literally) our way to the restroom. I can't begin to count how many times my ass was touched!

On the way back from the restroom, I got body rubbed. I really needed a shower after that one. Rowan was standing there watching this unfold laughing her ass off. Not funny!!!

Okay, now to the concert! FABULOUS! Please check out the review in the music page. I cannot say bad things about Brandi. But, I can about her fans! Give the girl some respect! Sheesh!
