I know I have seen him like two dozen times, but tonight's show was
absolutely amazing. He closed with "I fought the law" and while the
moshing made me feel old, the song made me feel young....

Marquee theater-worst place to see a show

Seriously. Thus place always gets props from new times readers. Maybe
I am too old, but fuck! We have to stand in line, they don't open the
doors on time and then we have to take our shoes off to make sure we
don't have a shiv... Uhm, I am 31 years old and have no patience to
make a shiv nor the patience to take off my FLIP FLOPs for
inspection....

For all this, Mike Ness better bring it!!!

We won! Well, sorta. The better half won 120 bucks! We have been
steadily winning, when we play the machines, that is. But I managed to
drop 70 bucks on roulette. It sucked. Luckily, I won 40 back on video
poker.

We ate sushi at a place called Hatchi. It was yummy. We also went
bowling. I love this resort, cause there is a theater, bowling alley
AND spa!

It is really cold here, so we took a ride to the strip so we could
casino hop. So much for the cabana by the pool!

Vegas, baby!!

We are having an awesome, drunken time. We are staying at the Red
Rocks resort, and it is gorgeous. We got in last night, and stayed up
till like 3am. We are headed dancing tonight, after winning about 160
bucks today! But first, sushi!

Gogol Bordello played coachella last year in one of the tents, I *
think * it was mojave. They blew the roof off so hardcore that they
were given mainstage status this year. It is an earlier time slot,
around 6pm or so, and I expected the stage to be too big for them.
Boy, was I wrong! They are 30 mins into their set and they are still
attracting a crowd.

Deadmouse kicked ass. Not typically my sound- he is a DJ and really
does a great job of building the audience up. Good stuff. Now we are
at swervedriver and they are really good, guitar/lyric driven shoe-
gazer rock ala Seattle early 90's. They have a very grunge feel to
them, but they look very much like average joes. Will post image in a
few min.

in Spanish? Apparently my lack of speaking my "native language" has
transcended to my dining experience as well. Oi vay.

Pretty good show, but we left early to catch Death Cab for Cutie at
the mainstage. It is finally cooling off, and I finally have a few
down moments to type. Today was too hot. Tomorrow is supposed to be
just as bad, if not worse. I suspect we will not be coming till later
in the day. I will say, everyone in my group has done an awesome job
taking care of me during my over-heated moments. I obviously travel
with a good bunch of guys. I suppose being the only girl in the group
helped. LOL.

The guy has some witty banter going on with the audience. He makes me
giggle, particularly when he makes quips about shitty Soundgarden. We
also caught some of devotchka, who just didn't do it for me. They put
on a neato stage show with girls climbing up fabric, but otherwise it
was just too jam band rific for me.

We saw a bit of 120 Days and they were good, too...

I am digging these guys. Good music, fun...very much about anthems
with subject matter that shouldn't mean much to me, now solidly in my
thirties. And yet, it is refereshing and surprisingly uplifting.

Hot as hell. We got here early to catch Mick Jones' new band, called
carbon/silcon. Good stuff. Better than I think he deserves to be at
this age. He can still play, surprisingly.

My new favorite drink? The atomic jerry! It is vodka, sugar free red
bull and some sort of grapefruit izze. Delicious, intoxicating and
wonderful. In my drunken state, I can only say that this coachella is
going to be the best. Ever.
