Here is a link with instructions to join the Developer branch of Google Chrome, allowing you to get updates for the application more often. Fixed a few problems I was having at work behind a proxy while using GMail apps.

No surprise that the look and feel is austere. That was a key factor that helped make the Google web browser so successful.

I downloaded it just to give it a try. I personally did not notice a difference in speed. For me personally the browser is too dull. The only thing i really admired was it's safety feature.

I think they should tweak it a bit and make it more customizable. Like on Firefox where you can add plug ins and even give your browser a theme.

Downloaded it this morning and trying it out...so far I like it, but found a few things I have to go to other browsers for....hopefully as it's around longer that will be solved and there will be Alexa, Stumble, etc plugins for it.

Alright, I have in the past few days discussed how I was insatiably excited for Google’s new Chrome web browser. Today all I have to say is that it is no better than Firefox. We all know Google made Chrome using open source code including Mozilla’s, and we all know that Google Chrome supposedly is a step closer towards a Web OS. However after using it for a day I have encountered quite a few problems and have missed any major improvements in speed or usability. Chrome also has instances of freezing or displaying a web page wrongly (such as the upper right hand corner of my blog); Firefox has no such scruples. I still am a fan of Mozilla, a basically non for profit organization who makes all of their money for allowing Google to be the default search (approximately 80 percent of their income). Mozilla will still draw more devout GNU support based on it’s opus understanding of the value of free software and countering inefficiencies found in other web browsers.

I downloaded it, Google Chrome is unique in one sense but not in the other. Overall, I have to say that it is generally good and I think it is much faster than IE or Mozilla.
