I'm so glad you all enjoyed your presents. I use the spiral square piece as a coaster, myself.

Glen, no I haven't tried making such things, but that does sound like a lot of fun. I have seen other designs that require the purchase of dowels to act as axles for a simple wheeled toy. I suppose that could work for more complex models, too. I'll keep that in mind for my future projects.

Thank you for the gift... Carol and I enjoyed putting the puzzle pieces together.

The design and fabrication process got me to thinking. Have you ever made any automatons (mechanical toys)? I imagine that you could render a sophisticated design and the gearing for movement using this method. Pop out the pieces, put'em together, turn the crank. Voila!

The design is truly cool and it was fun assembling. Thanks Ben! My pens and pencils are honored to have a receptical worthy of their importance. Since nobody lets me run with scissors, I'm now safe and the scissors are readily available to more responsible users:) Plus, the spiral designed top is a bonus piece of art! loveitloveitloveit.
