Safe Investments for Recession

Times are bad. Day after day, news of retrenchment, layoffs and shutdowns keep making into the news headlines. People like me who are working in the manufacturing industry is fearing the worst, as the most badly hit industry no doubt will be us. At times I wished I had some gold coin safely tucked somewhere. At least that will provide me with some security just in case things got worst.

Right now the factory seems to be still operating, albeit production is in a smaller scale. I really pray that things will pick up next month. Its hard to predict the future, but at least if my job is back to normal, at least I don't have to worry too much.

Time flies really fast nowadays, isn't it?

From ranting about assignments, projects, exams and internship, it is time to rant about work, colleagues and stress right now!

Can't say that I have a lot to rant, not because I have the perfect job, but I just don't see the point in rambling about things that I can't change, and if I could, I shouldn't waste time rambling about it.

It all boils down to attitude.

So I resolve to maintain a positive outlook. Be happy, don't sweat the small stuffs.

Time flies, whether we realize it or not, so its not worth wasting my youth worrying about unnecessary stuffs. :D

Back then, in the olden days, the only option to invest in the share market is either through a third party, which means through a remiser or broker. The broker gets a part of the profit, and even if it is a loss I guess the broker still had his share of profit. I could still remember there were countless of small time investors in the trading company waiting anxiously for the day trading options and to see the ups and downs of their particular share. That was back then.

From something as complicated and time consuming such as calling up the broker and waiting at the trading company, investors can now sign up for day trading option and buy or sell their shares anytime and anywhere, so as long as there is internet connection. This convenient option even eliminates the use of broker, and I could say that that saves you some amount of money as well.

The good thing about day trading option, is that, you get to view trends and graphs and all the analysis online before deciding, and even if you are new to share investments there are aplenty gurus out there offering help. So if you plan to invest and don't know where to start, you could always try reading up on online trading before deciding.

Fourth of July is just around the corner! Any plans to go off somewhere for the holidays? You know what, even without the holiday, every one deserve a good holiday every now and then to refresh and rejuvenate the body and mind. A stay at hilton head will make wonders in lifting up your spirit. I don't know about you, but I think hilton head south carolina is a cool place for a holiday, and if I can afford it I will definitely pack my luggage now. Unfortunately, hilton head island can only be a dream island getaway for me, as I get stuck in my peanut paying job, hanging on just so that I could pay my bills. How sad is my life eh? You bet I am so not gonna paste the brochures on my wall to remind myself of my pathetic life.

The prospect of working sounds like a drab to me, but its not like I've got a lot of choices, so like it or not, I have to get myself a 9-5 job and work my ass of for some decent salary that enables me to pay rent and buy food. Being in the country where the government seems like a joke, trying to survive takes a lot more than just working hard. Maybe I should look into some form of investment at the side. Choices such as forex, share market and gold coins might be something that can be look upon. I must save some money to do some investments.

Parking Space

Parking space. One of the things that are sorely lacking around the campus. Most of the time when there's some event going on, you bet I have to walk so far that I might be better off walking to work from home.

You might ask, why not walk instead, if it is so near?

Its not the lazy bum reason, it has more to do with security. With the increase of crimes targeting students, it is just not safe to walk on the road anymore, regardless if it is daylight or night time.

Better drive to campus than risk being a statistic. After all, if anything happens, the victim gets more blame than the criminal.

KIDS FURNITURE, have you ever thought of getting them for your kid's room?

I always thought that kid's furniture are a waste of money. After all, kids do grow up, and what are we to do with all those small pieces of furniture? It will be a waste no? However, after learning more about furniture for kids I came to know that the furnitures are not only small in size suitable for kids, but they are all kids friendly, with features such as padded and rounded corner, so that the kids will not accidentally hurt themselves, unlike our normal furniture, which might look nice but not as kids friendly, with those awkward designs and sharp corner sometimes.

So if you have kids at home, at least take a look at the safety features of the kids furniture before purchasing.

Nothing lasts forever. Even engagements could be annulled, marriages end in divorce. Everything is in constant change that you would doubt whether the person you are with right now will still be compatible with you a few months down the road. Lunch, Rain and Stale Fruit

Since it was raining during lunch time, I can't get out of the office so I went for lunch late, like about 2.30pm. Thank God the place was not overcrowded, signaling that the lunch crowd was dispersed.

Wanted to get a slice of cut fruit after lunch, but all those refrigerated fruit looks stale and certainly cause more harm than good, if digested.

Sigh. Maybe I should buy my own fruit and cut 'em.

Technical School Info

My cousin is going to graduate from high school and is on the crossroads to determine what should he study in future. He had expressed his interest in it training and courses similar to that. With the foreign exchange market being so volatile these days, it is best to think of another form of investment, be it commodities, gold coins or anything else. Just the other day there was a huge trade show for agricultural products across the country, and the event was quite a success given the amount of people milling around the concourse area as well as those flocking the trade show booths. I was there as well, and got myself some healthy organic drink made of alfalfa and wheat grass.

Then come this week the campus is going to organize and IT fair and sure enough, they have gotta be a lot of booths set up by vendors invited by the organizers, and I heard that my friends who us in charge of the venue is busy preparing the whole thing. He is in dire need of some table skirts and banner stands to make the thing look more professional and not like some student organized event. I was thinking, he might as well get professional help that caters to everything, from the booth setup to the decorations as well as Pipe and Drape to make things easier.

Casino at The Click of Your Finger

Every time I pass by trunk road to and fro the North South highway, I will inevitably pass by the road leading towards Genting Highlands, the City of entertainment in the country that houses the country’s casino. Nursing Homes

While the Asians are staunch believers that grown up children should be taking care of their aging parents and that sending our folks to nursing homes is a sign of uttermost disrespect, the Western counterpart take it as a norm that is as natural as it was, just like growing old, or so I perceive. I sure hope that a tide of change will make the Asians realize that they should consider this an option, because frankly speaking, with time devoted to juggling their family and career it might just be better for our folks to be taken care of by better guardians in care home. and especially if the senior citizens are bugged down with illnesses and old age.

Although I heard of some horror stories regarding nursing homes that mistreats its occupants, I can't shake off the fact that I myself witnessed old men and women, homeless and foraging in the streets, sleeping in makeshift cardboard boxes and eating leftovers. Between the two evils, which of it is better? Nursing homes? Or let them in the streets? I guess it all depends on the children of these senior citizens, and how much fillial piety they exercise.

I went for an interview in an advertising company that specializes in all sort of traditional billboard and neon signs advertising, and as an electronics engineering undergraduate, the boss actually expects me to know how to make neon and LED signage for the company. I mean, come on, I am new and inexperienced, and plus, I am just asking for a tranee position and he really think that I could work wonders and create a Rockefellar Christmas Lights?

Granted, lighting and neon signs are good advertising media because it is attractive, and in the festive seasons, LED Christmas Lights, is really an eye catcher but I think it needs a lot of manpower to enable he company to venture into that branch of business.

So yeah, of course I told him, no can do because I seriously know nothing about it. But I like the company's neon signs project though. They are just very, very beautiful, and I wish I could get one and put in my room.

Sunglasses are a luxury to me. They are so expensive that sometimes I dare not look twice on the display window. Last month, the month where my cousins were getting married, mum was all busy going to the goldsmith and jewelers to check out some jewelries as wedding gifts to my cousins. You see these cousins of mine are quite close enough, and therefore a gift of gold is appropriate. While there, the gold smith asked my mum if she had any old gold jewelries that she doesn't wear anymore: that they can melt the gold and remade them into more fashionable and "in" jewelries, with a small fee. I don't know how I felt about this, gold prices are getting up so it is a slick and sly gimmick by the goldsmith, but then again, if my mum things she wanted to, well I can't really disagree. Sigh, if I have the money I would have just get some us gold coins to keep. I know the value of gold is going to increase tenfold by the time I retire, and I can cash them to go for vacation. If only.
