There have been so many instances of crimes such as rape being committed by American GI's in US military bases abroad.But you seldom hear of GI's being punished and sent to prison by the host country.Heh,it's because the American military never leaves its people behind, not even the low-lifes.

They usually send those found guilty back home where they are dealt with accordingly....with kids gloves.But they will raise hell if any of their GI's are harmed,killed,or raped.A case of double standard? Hmmm...you think?

There's enough voices FOR and AGAINST; I'm merely one of those who'd rather remain objective. And as I've said, I "trust" that both governments will exercise complete cooperation to fully unravel the truth. I'm sure the citizens of both nations want justice.

Perhaps they are all as innocent as the day they were born (and the girl had some sort of virtual invisible man rape her). But, if they are so innocent, why are they not being handed over to the legal authorities to deal with as you or I would be dealt with? My comment, additionally, is directed as those who call the victim (a Filipina 22 year old girl) a hooker. Even if she is, or was, does that make it OK for 4-6 men to rape her? Thanks.

This might have been a tongue in cheek commentary, BUT as they say, there's more truth in jest than realized.

This is a very serious case and I, for one, intend to hold judgement until the court hears the case accordingly. I trust that both the Philippine and American authorities will work together in unraveling the TRUTH.

I am a Filipino-American and as much as I believe that rape is indeed a despicable act of violence, I still consider those four servicemen innocent until proven guilty.

Although this entry is a but crude, I do appreciate the tongue-in-cheek nature of your commentary. Filipino communities across the globe have been keeping a eye out on this case because it shows that even today, militarization continues to damage the Philippines (even after we've been declared an independent country and got rid of the military bases) on various levels.

Also, Filipinos globally are affected by this and similar cases because Filipinas are automatically seen as hypersexual, cheap and easy whores. These stereotypes carry on outside of the military bases and outside of the Philippines, yet no one realizes why such images exist.

It's frustrating. Absolutely frustrating.
