Which i was unable to attend due to band obligations. But from the sound of it , a worthwhile event and hopefully get some more information about how it went through me or from stu on here.

So Tonight also sees stu back to the gym, though not 100% , it will be good to see the group of us at the gym tonight providing Will and the others are available. As Last week saw my second week back though my foot is still in its final weeks of healing after 2 months off.

We shall now see more updates and progress on the parkour front and planning for events over the summer , with afew strangers situated in andover who are still to be consistant in contacting us.

and a lesson from the injuries , beware of the gym floor!, be aware of the objects around you and most of all only attempt parkour on object which have been checked before hand for stability and safety...Kohlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13887282784861314169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1115384587638185072005-05-06T12:39:00.000Z2005-05-06T13:03:07.676ZIs Anybody Out There...YES!It seems there is somebody out there after all. After a chance discovery in the UFF forums the other day Kohl an myself have found Team Twist, based in none other then Andover..fancy that!.A 6 legged team, they have been practicing since mid January time and have released their first video, based in the housing estates around Andover. But it makes me more eager to get back (safely)....
Ive been alittle busy with small projects both musically and web related and am now free of the web project.

Fingers crossed ill be back in 2 weeks... so resting up till then.
I will Add the Gym page to the Andover hotspots a.s.a.p, I and Ben took accouple of photos at my last gym session and havent had a chance to put them up.Kohlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13887282784861314169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1113423660338773522005-04-13T20:14:00.000Z2005-04-13T20:29:55.526ZEverything On The Western FrontWell, you're probably thinking all is quiet.....and it is. Right now both of us are out with injury,me with the elbow that's going to be going in for physio soon, and Matt/Kohl with an aggrovated ligament or something in his foot. But my spiwits are been kept high by some people, and Matt/Kohl (what do you want to be referred to as??) is confident of a recovery sometime soon, however this is the longest lasting injury in the time I've known him.

On a separate note it turns out we were both simultaneously first considering taking up the gymnastic classes at our local gymnasium to improve our overall flexibility and fitness, and to get down some moves that would help us with our overall Parkour......However,for various reasons that i forget,I have decided not to,and Kohl has put it on hold for a while. Then it turns out we were both thinking of taking up a martial art of some form,to get back to that basis of fitness and flexibility. Before our gym session on mondays there are classes that we sometimes get to glimpse into, 1 time being the instructor lunging variously with a wooden mallet of some sort and this 16-17 year old girl had to deflect his attacks and "take him down" so to speak. So after a bit of nifty sherlock work from Kohl it turns out they teach Kung Fu there, which once fully healed we intend on taking up.

-Stuz-Stuzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18400388836569733693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1112435252994794412005-04-02T09:43:00.000Z2005-04-02T09:47:32.996Zon the mend ...Well i am the latest to get an injury, How you ask ? Well by walking along the gymnastics mat on monday and the edge was uneven though i wasnt assessing the floor as a risk,... and my foot twisted over horizontally and clicked and after 30mins into the session i have a strained ligament and bruising and slightly discoloured top of my left foot.

So , not only can parkour be dangerous but walking.

I was ment to be attending the uff3 workshop as was Stuz but now both out with injuries.... Callum is still going with friends and i was thinking about it just to watch and get some decent video footage but im still unable to walk 100% .
Im hoping for a Jam possibly next weekend , so will see whats on and will post...Kohlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13887282784861314169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1111949893963493962005-03-27T18:51:00.000Z2005-03-27T18:58:13.963ZMan DownAllo! So I finaly got to zie posting on dees blog ja.
I am out of the game for a while, minimum of 6 weeks as I broke my elbow in Southampton on Wednesday night in an almost flat backed,1.5m fall onto concrete.Worst fall of my life.A few xrays,3 days in hospital and a bit of surgery later my elbow is now screwed in to keep itself together but is obviously weakened and can barely support my arms weight right now.
I would also like to mention that as of mid-last week there is now an easier to remember url linking to this site in the form of http://www.purityparkour.cjb.net.
Cya in 6 weeks time.

-Stuz-Stuzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18400388836569733693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1111688811939252472005-03-24T18:25:00.000Z2005-03-26T01:50:19.106ZFirst NHPK Video and UpdatesToday saw the upload of accouple of videos and photos, yes there arent many at the moment, for one reason me and Ben will be starting work on an extremely fast arrangement for a NHPK video "#1", which will contain footage from February and March's Portsmouth Jams as well as Gym Sessions from this week.

The Second reason is i intend on adding more soon and havent had the time.

Over the next week or two i have every intention of making available a new set of hotspots for portsmouth once some extensive photos are taken.

UPDATE : Videos and Photos added to Gallery

Kohlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13887282784861314169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1111602390548057972005-03-23T18:04:00.000Z2005-03-26T01:51:30.053ZGYM SESSION NEWS , UFF PKW3 and UpdatesSo, from Sundays Jam , Ben was up in andover from uni and I as well as Stuz were feeling tired and aching from the the Jam as well as the previous week we were not sure whether we were all going to be able to survive Mondays Gym session.

But looking back is was worth it, Alot of warming up was required but eventually the aches went to the back of our minds and went through basic drills, and proceeded to go forward onto flowing kongs which is looking good but different to the less dynamic almost two footed Kongs.

Though both can be done on the move , from discussion at the Uff workshop and portsmouth jam realising it would be more important to get a one footed take off and it is reaping its rewards and takes its place in training from now on. I Managed to proceed with Callum and developing our Wallspinning technique but feel 1 nights practice is not enough currently so "repetition is very important" as a wise French man once said. I didnt manage to further my somersault practice with there being alot of demand for the trampolines.
Ben has got hang of Dash's which is great news and look forward to see him doing them outside so look out for Gallery updates!

Callum , Ben , Stuz among the practice went on to doing large Cat to 270 Cat's. Unfortunately Stuz seems to have a Foot problem also involving some swelling which reoccured in the session and hope will be well for next week, im sure he'll post progress.

Gym News
We were all informed tonight of great news that another Gym session will now commense on a Wednesday , So we will now have the ability to train in the Gym twice a week , though this will not always be the case but a BRILLIANT development and i shall soon be organising Andovers first Parkour workshop....

Sunday 3rd April sees the Third installation of Workshops from UFF in London and the list has gone up and am 99% sure I , Stuz as well as Callum and accouple of friends will be going as our names are on the list, so a substantial group of us going...

Ill Be updating the Gallery with Images and small clips as well as a video compiled by Me and Ben from the 2 previous portsmouth jams and this weeks gym session. Unfortunately we dont have expensive footage but enough for out first....Kohlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13887282784861314169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1111601050941243792005-03-23T17:47:00.000Z2005-03-23T18:28:42.383ZPortsmouth JamfestI Must apologise for the lack of last weeks updates.... So ill just add each seperatly now.

21th March, Saw mine and Stuz's first portsmouth jam, and i have to say i really enjoyed it, with meeting people from SCP and experiencing portsmouths spots
for the first time a very worth while experience.

I got down to portsmouth the night before and stayed at Bens to hopefully not experience trouble with transport on the day.
The Jam started at 12:00 from the Guildhall and most people were there before we got there inluding stuz who got the ferry over from the other side of the water....
We Spent a reasonable amount of time at the [guildhall] and saw everyone using the obstacles in their way , and then a short walk round the corner to a good spot and
further onto [Old Portsmouth] which was great for high wall run practice, turnvaults and just about all other technique's.

After some time here we walked onto Southsea's [ Pyramids ] which was great for precision practice for everyone as well as roll and wallspin practice up and down not too steep inclines.
BluePrint left us from here and we eventually moved back to guildhall for food and to finish up a jam with great weather.

Eventually bit by bit everyone left , and me and Ben were left to train further till 5:30 and then ventured homeward exausted on the train.

A Very good day and experience. Thanks for everyone who took part and organised.....Kohlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13887282784861314169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1111599856595708882005-03-14T17:42:00.001Z2005-03-23T17:47:23.346ZUFF workshop 2.....Stuz attended the first and unfortunately the places got filled quickly and i therefore made the list.
I ended up missing my train into london and walking alot mainly because the of engineering works, story of my life, i got to the session late by which time
the introduction and such had passed and therefore the session was a sort of free for all by then but made the most of the 3 hours i had in the gym....

The Energy from so many freerunners ranging from no experience to very experienced was a benefit and managed to drill basic moves which are the most important
and meet some very cool people from portsmouth and Newbury.

Its also good to get advice from more experienced people in how they approach their parkour training and got afew good tips from some of the UFF krew.
The Day ended and my legs weary and only just managing to keep me up and got home in good time.

A very worthwhile experience and i cannot wait to attend the next, the Andover Gym session is great but having advice from other freerunners is priceless...
Attend one if you can.Kohlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13887282784861314169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10155247.post-1110596994172322242005-03-12T03:03:00.000Z2005-03-12T03:09:54.256ZNhpk and Urban Freeflow workshopsWell the site has progressed from Beta to Version 1 with a final push since everything seems to have been getting in the way.... At first I was nervous walking in by myself and seeing all these trained gymnastic teens doing their stuff but after a little talk to the old man behind the desk comfortability set in,and now all I can say about gym training sessions is THEY ARE TOTALY NECESSARY AND THE SAFEST PLACE TO PRACTICE ANYTHING,NOT TO MENTION KICKASS AND ARE FUN AS ANYTHING!!!!
I spent a good hour and 15 minutes just rolling.I shit you not.A woman showed and explained to me how to do a forward roll, which as we all know is NOT what you want to be doing in Parkour because it was right along the spine, but because I was on padded mats I did quite a few to get used to the feeling and momentum of rolling. Then when I felt no attention was on me I started practicing the Parkour roll. Not as easy as it looks and is gona take me a while to progress to concrete.Have come to the conclusion that no matter what it is gonna hurt and you're gonna have more impact with the floor than you expect.

I will be approaching a local gym about a parkour training session, when i go up there for an introductory session more than likely this week if not, the week after....
So keep an eye here for news about an Andover gym session.
